Packer Palace 2010 Prediction Awards...

We asked you to tell us, for the 2nd year in a row, where we were wrong on our 2010 Packers Season predictions last September, and so most of you, like me, stepped right up and blew it big time! Tough to find an accurate prediction, let alone an outright winner.

So again like last year's Packer Palace 2009 Prediction Awards, we're forced to wrap up one of our loose ends from an off-season of no NFL Football, we here at Packer Palace recognize and award absolutely nothing but the highest honors to the following for their amazing abilities:

2010 Prediction Top Honor

is awarded to

Hamilton aka Sign Boy

I got the Pack at 11-5 for the season. Winning the North and not even having to play the queens in the playoff because they do not make it. I will take the queens at 8-8, the Bears at 9-7 and the Lions at 5-11. That is how I see it.

Pack in the Super Bowl vs whatever piece of crap they put up there. Go Pack Go. Brent Favre can get bent.

Hamilton aka Sign Boy

2010 Prediction Runner-Up

is awarded to

Jared S
   All the pundits are picking the Pack to go to the Super Bowl putting a big green and gold target on our backs. Lets see if we can live up to the hype.

2010 prediction: Packers 12-4 win division, beat the NY Jets in Super Bowl. I'm just saying.

Jared S

2010 Prediction Somehow Got Something Right Honors

are awarded to

FlcnHgtsPckr, BILLYBOY and Gravedigger
  vikings 9-7
packers 8-8
bears 8-8
lions 6-10

packers will sweep vikes this year!

FlcnHgtsPckr
PACKERS 13-3
VIKINGS 12-4
BEARS 9-7
LIONS 6-10

BILLYBOY
I have the Pack at 16-0 and the Queenies at 4-12.

Gravedigger

So thanks to the above Honoree's, Hamilton aka Sign Boy for edging out Jared S on the Super Bowl Prediction. FlcnHgtsPckr for the "will sweep Vikes" line, BILLYBOY (2-time awardee) for "LIONS 6-10" and Gravedigger for almost nailing the depth of the fall for the Vikings. Final NFC North Standings looked like this: duh Bears 11-5, the SB-XLV Champion Packers 10-6, the Lions 6-10, and in last place the Vikings 6-10.

Our predictions, like duh Bears, suck!

Michelle's Back With A Tease...
...from the back-stage area of the 2011 ESPY Awards held annually in Los Angeles.
    DUDE, got to interview Desmond Bishop and Donald Driver, both on VIDEO, met Aaron Rodgers' brother Luke on Monday night - haaa

    will send you stuff.

    Michelle
In case you haven't noticed, Michelle is pretty damn awesome with her contributions to Packer Palace already, check out her interview and pictures page from the previous ESPY events. Then to conclude her tease, she included pics of her Posing with Green Bay Packers LB Desmond Bishop, and a shot of Tennessee Titans QB Matt Hasselback.

As always, our deepest thanks goes out to Michelle, while we wait somewhat impatiently for her interviews of Desmond Bishop and Donald Driver to arrive.

Speak Out Spew Off...
The dog days of summer are here, time to play at the beach, grill a few brats, empty a few steins of beer, and the best part of it all. The Packers are finally in Training Camp.

All their Draft Picks have signed over the weekend. Amazingly, Green Bay even found the time to follow QB Aaron Rodgers advice and re-sign WR James Jones and FB John Kuhn. The smell of football is back in the air and I'm loving it!

The Packers have reloaded the roster with draft picks, street agents, and the return of injured players for a cheese-inspired fan-expected Super Bowl run. Will it be enough to repeat?.

The Eagles have done a few things to bring in extra CB's in Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha and tried to match stride... becoming maybe even the favorites in the NFC.

The Vikqueens have done a lot too, they have QB Donovan McNabb... ha hah haha ha. Gawd, I think semi-retired BF#4 is better than McNabb, especially since Donovan proclaimed that he's got nothing to prove... Ha hahah ha hahah hah, eh, can't stop laughing.

Nick Barnett as found a LB'ing home in Buffalo. Which is a good move for him and I, as a devoted Packers fan, can still root for him to do well over in the AFC.

Yeah, football is definitely back in the air... Go Pack Go! Start The Super Bowl Roll!

Did you get a load of the Packers training camp? They looked absolutely terrible. Organized no workouts during the lockout and now come in totally drunk and hung over from their post-SB party.

They're going to be totally dismembered next season. How's 7-9 sound?

Bear Down

Hey Bear Down, funny, I heard your team had to cancel it's family night practice because Soldier Field was a complete mess, and now the NFL is talking about forcing duh Bears to actually have an NFL-compliant field for the first time ever... by the way Bear Down, great name, I bet you picked that after Cutler quit in the NFC Championship game.   BK

I have the NFC North at:
Packers 12-4 (or 13-3)
Lions 9-7
Vikings 8-8
Bears 5-11

And BTW, we're apparently are no longer the sexy team, the Eagles are. I hope we prove them wrong and I hope our guys don't get SB hangover like the Saints did.

And the free-agency laughs continue....

The punter in MN, Chris Kluwe, had to surrender his #5 to Donavan McNabb. So what number is Kluwe gonna wear now? #4. That's right, the queens gave the number 4 to the punter! bwaahahahahahah....

Speaking of Minnehaha, Seahucks head coach Pete Carroll has already named Tarvarius Jackson his starting quarterback this season. *stifling laughter* Let's see how "great" Sidney Rice is with Jackson throwing at him.

Elsewhere, Roy Williams - the malcontent wideout who whined his way out of Dallass and threw his quarterback under the bus with the usual "he won't throw me the ball" rhetoric - is on his way to Chicago. This guy's now going to be catching/(dropping) passes from Jay Cutler - a qb who's won even less than Romo has. Yeah, that sure sounds like a recipe for success to me! God Bless Jerry Angelo, genius personnel man. May he *never* leave da bears organization.

To the East - Michael Vick's new back-up has been named: Vince Young. The same over-hyped, headcase QB who couldn't take the "pressure" in Tennessee (Tennessee??) So when Vick goes down this year, and Young comes in - how on earth is he going to be able to survive Phillyfan? I love this, especially because the media have already crowned the Eagles 'paper Champions' after all of their high-profile FA moves. Bah.

GOD BLESS OUR GREEN BAY PACKERS!!

Packer Palace Predicts 2011...
Friday, August 12, 2011 -   So I'd finally figured out it was time to roll out the old beer-stained and cheese-encrusted crystal ball to check on the Green Bay Packers future for this upcoming season, and discovered much to my most extreme ultimate horror, the always trusty prognosticator crystal ball has been out since January. Way back when gUrt was wallowing around on the grounds here, and it looks like I'm already down for my Packers prediction this year. Sort of takes the suspense out it. Dang...

So instead of talking about and relying on what the golden magic crystal ball had to say (Packers 12 wins, Bears 9, Lions 7, Vikings 6) and looking like a some kind of rational thought provoking football analyst that talks about how explosive both the Packers offense and defense will be, I'm going to go with what I was spewing back in January (certainly, one of those alcohol-related incidents that keep popping up from time to time) and put down on paper that the Packers are going to walk away with NFC North Division title this year by sweeping not only the Vikings, Bears and Lions, but sweeping every one else too and finishing up the 2011 regular season with a perfect record. Yeah, 16-0, you read it here first maybe, back in January when I first let it slip loudly that something special was coming for the Pack. Yup, Sixteen-and-Zero!!!

So how can this be? How can an off-season based on constant drinking in heavy moderation following with a daily devotional celebration of the Packers Super Bowl XLV victory, that the stunning revelation revealed from behind the Walls of Time, buried within the repeated Blessing's that keep raining down from the Ancient Football Gods on High, that due to prognosticating events unfolded over 7 months ago in the alleged drinking battle, between the Forces of Good (me, you, the Packers) against the Forces of Darkness (gUrt, duh Bears, some others) that tomorrow's upcoming events have already been decided in the Packers favor. It has been decreed!

Packers
Bears
Lions
Vikings
16
7
6
5
-
-
-
-
0
9
10
10 - 1

What can one say after that? You will want to acknowledge that there must be another Super Bowl appearance intended for Green Bay, which one could then also must acknowledge that a repeat would sure to follow and another Super Bowl Trophy for the Trophy Case is then destined for Green Bay. Face fate. 19-0.

...heh, what do I know, I always get this prognostication down to almost never being even close to never being right, so it's time for all of you to tell me where I'm wrong, all over again, for another year in a row.

9-6-11 - 12-4. We win the division. A Rod finally gets to have a home playoff game. We go on the road in the NFCC game and beat one stupid bunch of birds or another (Falcons or Eagles), then we roll into Indy, we drink all their beer, and we come out with One for the Thumb. GO PACKERS!

Lions 9-7
Duh Bears 7-9
Drag Queens 5-11

@Vikings: L
@Chargers: L
Vikings: W
Bucs: L

2-11-11 - I'd like to say we win the division next season, but it probably won't happen. Maybe something like this:

Bears: 10-6
Vikings: 9-7
Lions: 8-8
Packers: 5-11

And we get in the playoffs as a wild card.

Valhalla
________________________________

2-11-11 - I agree with Mr. Valhalla's NFC North predictions except that he should switch the Vikings and Lions around. Having the Bears at 10- 6 and the Packers at 5-11 seems pretty dead-on accurate, though. But who am I kidding? There probably won't be a 2011 season anyway.

1-6-11 - So lemme give a rundown of what GB's 2011 season will look like:

Bears: Lose
Lions: Win
Vikings: Win
Rams: Lose
Saints: Lose
Raiders: Lose
Broncos: Win
@Bears: Lose
@Vikings: Win
@Lions: Lose
@Chiefs: Lose
@Chargers: Win
@Giants: Lose
@Panthers: Win

End result: 6-10 and third place behind the Bears and Lions (Vikes go in the basement again).

gUrt

*** gUrt, that's only 6-8; Buccaneers and Falcons you missed oh brilliant one! ---- BK

Ok, I forgot Bucs and Falcons. Packers lose both of those. And 16-0 is no guarantee you're winning the SB as a certain team found out a few years ago.

As for the Bears' 2011 opponents:

Packers: Win Lions: Win Vikings: Win Falcons: Lose Panthers: Win Raiders: Win Chargers: Win Seahawks: Win @Packers: Win @Vikings: Win @Lions: Win @Saints: Lose @Buccaneers: Win @Broncos: Win @Chiefs: Win @Eagles: Win

End result: 14-2 and #1 NFC seed.

Spew Off Speak Out...
Packer play the Cleveland Browns Saturday, 6:30pm CST in Cleveland. NFL Network will carry the broadcast besides the usual local Wisconsin Stations.

You want the Packers to show up being sharp, looking good, ready to take on the new season, but you better be ready for some sloppy football, and the Pack never do very good against the Browns in the pre-season. I guess we'll see what we see...

Update:   The Green Bay Packers pre-season debut ends with a 27-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns. After a 3-and-out, the Packers 1st string offense looked OK on their 2nd drive, fueled by the no-huddle offense, resulting in a 21 yard TD toss from Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings, after that, things looked a bit shakey. Backup QB Matt Flynn, looked OK at times, during other times, he looked like an inexperienced backup QB. The game came down to the old proverbial "their scrubs are better than our scrubs" that almost all preseason games devolve into eventually.

One other note to add, the kick-off return game strategy is starting to settle in for all NFL Teams, that a kick-off that's 5-6 yards deep in the end-zone, is returnable. Otherwise, the NFL Powers-That-Be are trying to take an exciting play and making it's impact almost nothing. I have a feeling that this is more about the handfull of overtime games that happen each year, and forcing the offense to gather an extra 1st down before being in FG range. Preseason is preseason, Go Pack Go!!!

That browner bombed game is awesome! I was hoping to see Walters beer on the big scoreboard though.

E Gunn

Hey E Gunn, I don't know if that not-ready-for-primetime game is awesome, but it was fun to create on limited development time. As for Walter's... good gawd, I remember drinking Eau Claire All Malt and enjoying that immensely. I remember drinking Walter's Special by the case like all my older relative's did, but I've evolved into an India Pale Ale kind of heavy drinker. Pilsner's are for someone else to quaff, with needed doses of Whiskey (Whisky) required.   BK
