Packers Training Camp 8/30...

So as we're slowly being drawn into the cheddar whirlpool of Cheesehead Nation and (with Corey of Cheeshead TV being the main instigator in a cast of hundred's in all of this participation) we're starting to get around to doing our small part by including the Cover It Live's access for todays Cheesehead Nation coverage of Packers Training Camp at 3:30pm CST.

So if you're sitting around today, and responsibility is nagging you to get to work on all those things that weekends try to do to you, just give a Hell No!!! I'm talking Packers and join us in conversation.... The welcome mat is out and we're expecting you to be here. BYOB...

BeerScout was out scrounging around the web the other day looking for interesting things and forwarded the pic's in. Looks like back in 1979, Leinenkugel's Brewery in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin, stretched out a cold brew to the Enlistment Association of the Wisconsin National Guard.

Right On!!! We approve.

Speak Out Spew Off...

Tonight, the Packers go up against the Arizona Cardinals in another preseason game down in Arizona. One thing I like, is that rookie RB Tyrell Sutton is going to get some time with the number one offense. It's looking more and more that Sutton is pushing another RB DeShawn Wynn down the depth chart. Tonight, will get a chance to see how true this is.

Another thing we'll see, with backup QB Matt Flynn on the bench nursing a minor shoulder injury is the other backup QB Brian Brohm playing again. It's amazing to me, that this kid can look so bad for a 2nd round draft choice. There's been talk that he should get some time with the number one's to show what he can do, but I disagree, unlike Tyrell Sutton, who has stood out while playing with the 2nd and 3rd stringers, Brohm has looked horrible in the same situations. If your talent doesn't make you stand out in backup situations, why in the hell would get a chance to do the same with the starting offense. Typically you don't, not even in preseason. Go Pack!

First half was a thing of beauty.......now the second half reminded me of our defense from last year! Did you see ol Rogers Cromartie showin off his gold grill after he got burned for 2 TD's. Put it away my friend, you just got schooled by Jordy and Jermichael....but at least you looked like a thug. The Packers keep this up and I think they'll have a game to play in February.

Hey BK, drinking the kool-aid much? Last year I predicted 6-10 for the Packers and got a lot of flack for it. I expect to get the same amount of flack this year. Some people will always predict the Packers to win 10 or 11 games. I guess it's the fashionable thing to do.

Favre Fan

Hey Favre Fan, soooooooo????? You didn't make a current prediction for this year, and glancing over last years predictions - I didn't see one from you then either.... but heh, we all know you predicted the Pack to finish 6-10 last year... Got it, I too, predicted at least once in a drunken stupor that the Packers would only get 6 wins last year too... In the un-written prediction jungle, we were both right.  BK

Hey BeerKid............. I'm looking forward to this season. I think the Pack will be damn close to the Super Bowl, if not in it!!! Everything that could go wrong last year, went wrong and yet they were almost always in position to win. Turn those seven close games around and it could have been 13-3, like the year before. Everything is in place for a run.

Lots of contracts coming up, Old Man Bert Farv is gone, dream team of a coaching staff on D. Just don't you be thinking the preseason has got me all hyped up about it, cause preseason don't mean much. I can just feel it coming our way....... w/o all those devastating injuries like we had last year..... here comes the train. Time now for all the loyal fans that stayed on the wagon to enjoy the ride. Time to enjoy watching all those that were hanging onto the sides and dragging their feet, claw their way back up the sides and back into the wagon. They can jump on and off, pretend like they've always been on there, but I'm always keeping my seat in good or bad times (same as you). And now it's time for me/us to enjoy and be rewarded for my/our patience.

Long Live the Pack!!!

McCabes Shamrock Club...

Alright, BeerScout finally got around to forwarding a few pics from his afternoon visit to McCabe's Shamrock Club in New Richmond, WI from a few weeks ago.

New Richmond is the home of former Packers great Johnny "Blood" McNally and well, what else can you say about a Bar with a drive-up windows for carry-out. Well, you could say that is totally awesome. Click through the thumbnails to see his pics.

Michelle Interviews Donald Driver...

Once again, PackerPalace.Com Producer Michelle (you just have to love self-promotion within the ranks) graces us with her presence, and this time she sends us her short interview with Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver who shares some interesting tidbits with her.

Again, you should take some time to check out her short interview with DD from a few weeks ago: I bet DD was wondering "who the hell is PackerPalace.Com" at the conclusion of his interview... heh heh won't he be surprised.

Anyways, you can check out more of Michelle's work here, a few pics and an interview with CB Al Harris from last year at the ESPY's - Michelle's Reprezentin' At Packer Palace and we're confident she will be offering more of her work in the future. Go Pack!

This Week At The Rockwood Lodge...

What happens when you cross a Packers road game with some Arizona Scream Queens from your favorite B-movie, why you get a Packer Palace production of:Starring a trio of lame-o QB's from the Cardinals and featuring an introduction and a warning by their SB losing coach, you'll be screaming too. Artfully re-adjusted by the crack-shot team at Packer Palace, why, you'll be Beaming Into The Alternate Universe Of The Green Bay Packers and telling all your friends.

Michelle Interviews Matt Stafford...

Detroit Lions rookie QB and No. 1 overall draft pick in last spring's NFL Draft Matt Stafford is cornered by our fellow cheesehead and roving Packer Palace contributor Michelle, who gets a moment of his time to ask him a few questions on the upcoming NFL Football Season.

So please take some time to check out her short interview from a few weeks ago: Our deepest thanks to Michelle for thinking of us here at Packer Palace whenever she gets the chance to share her work. It's much appreciated. Go Pack!

Hey BK, You know what really ticks me off (well, besides the whole Favre drama)? The Cowboys. I fail to recall one team in the NFL who has a bigger ego than "America's Team". I mean, that nickname says it all. The Cowboys consider themselves so holy that even their nickname suggests the fact that everyone in America is required to like them. As I write this message I can't help but overhear Sportscenter in the other room. The discussion of the day? The fact that the Boy's won't elevate their scoreboard to properly play the game of football. The scoreboard itself costs a staggering $40 million. However, when faced with the challenge to raise said scoreboard (for $2 million dollars) they not only reject the NFL's suggestions to raise the board, but they even have the audacity to tell OTHER TEAMS they must compensate for the Cowboy's terrible measuring skills....I'm speechless. How inconsiderate do you have to be to demand a visiting team to revamp their entire special teams plans for a stadium mishap. I guess the saying is true: Everything IS bigger in Texas...especially their egos.

Hey BeerKid...

Hey BeerKid,

If someone who calls themselves a TRUE Packer fan is seen wearing a Viking Favre jersey, is it proper to burn the jersey while still on the said fan?

Baraboo Packer Fan

Hey Baraboo Packer Fan,

Thanks for your question. Is it proper to burn a viking favre jersey while still being worn? Hmmmm, well, technically, no it's not a good idea to do that. My suggestion would be to:
  1. Remove the offending person's beer (this is for health reasons, such a mentally unbalanced person probably shouldn't be drinking anyway) and then use it to top-off your own beer first, any remaining liquid should then be thrown onto said offender's face.
  2. Now that the offending person is safely covered in liquid for his protection, bring out your favorite incendiary device of choice in anticipation of heavy usage.
  3. Rip and tear the viking jersey in question off of the offending body and after clearing an area of sawdust and peanut shells, toss it on the floor - Use caution, if the offender puts up resistance, you may be required to toss your own beer on this person - remember its for their own protection.
  4. Now you can wisely use your incendiary device of choice to strike flame to the offending viking favre jersey in question, and remember, if said offender continues to resist, safely douse him in copious amounts of liquids for his own continued protection.
  5. Lastly, make sure to invoice this mentally unbalanced offender for any lost beer you may have been forced to endure during this safety demonstration on the proper usage of fan loyalty to the Green Bay Packers. Someone has to pay the bar-tab, and under these kind of circumstances, it should be the offending party.
Hope that answers your question with the proper guidelines on what to do when encountering an unbalanced fan with obvious and divided loyalites.

Packers 31 Bills 21...

Packers came out swinging, and using an aggressive Offensive Plan to go with an aggressive Defensive Plan turned the game into a laugher early on. It's only preseason, but it always good to see the team running on all cylinders effectively. Safety Joe Porter dominated late in the game with the reserves and may be earning himself an active role in the upcoming season, and as to back-up QB Brian Brohm, ummmm, dude, always throwing high and late never gets you a career in the NFL. Shape up or be prepared to be shipped out. Go Pack!

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

_________________________________

Well, the Vikings sure did get better quarterback production against the Chiefs...from Tarvaris Jackson! Brett Favre: one completion out of four attempts for four yards. And did you notice the fans looked kinda dazed after the second series, like "WTF?!", even Ziggy had a blank stare on his face wondering "this is our saviour?!". I also noticed the fans leaving the game early -- typical fair weather Vikings fans. What a joke. I think the Pack should go after Tarvaris if he is let go, to replace Brohm. Imagine this, Rodgers goes down for the season, TJack comes in to replace him, and takes the Pack to the Super Bowl! Now THAT would be karma. The Bears still suck and the Vikings still swallow. GO PACK GO!

Speak Out Spew Off...

Beerscout here, reporting from New Richmond WI, home of Johnny Blood McNally.

I was in a bar last night and talked to the guy who now lives in McNally's house! A classic Wisconsin little dive, and I've got pictures of some great tee shirts, and Pack vs. Vikes memorabilia, and some pix of an old helmet they had signed by Bart Starr and others.

My dad LOVES the fact Favre is a Queenie, and thinks it will make the season tons of fun! I'm with CAMP on this one as usual, and I'm starting to come around to "this is going to make the season interesting" attitude.

Not to mention I just installed a Slingbox at my dad's place in Eau Claire, and will now be able to watch the Pack from my studio in the Palisades!

Honestly, I am not just jumping on Ted, I want answers. What actually has he done that has taken this team forward? Look at it. Where is his star first round DL? Harrell, I can't stay healthy, is riding pine. Oh yeah the Pack did make that NFC Championship a couple of years ago didn't they? Wait, I could argue that Brent did that more than Ted. How great was he that year? Okay, he picked A Rod. A Rod played good last year but what did that get us?

It could be argued that Favre got TT and Mike McDumbshit their big raises and extensions?

I am hating Brent for his act of treason just as much as the next guy, but I do understand it for all they did to him. I again point out that pic of TT and MM sitting next to Deanna at the 'retirement' that you published. They were not happy, they were nervous.

Anyway, I want to say that I will be rooting for Brent to get back at TT, but I will also be rooting for AJ to break his legs. LT style.

I am trying to coordinate a trip with my 'friend' in St. Paul to get together at Lambeau for the game. I coming from So. Cal, and she from St. Paul....and a trip to the HumptyDome in Oct. is not being considered at this point. Gotta do this at Lambeau, baby!

I checked online, like ebay and craigslist, but they are trying to rob folks BLIND!! Ridiculous asking prices! It's funny, you sell tickets at a venue above face value and it's conidered scalping and is illegal. However, it's totally legal to scalp 15-20 TIMES the value of the ticket online! Go figure! Even tailgaiting tickets are going for over $150, parking is over $125! What gives?! Only in America, eh?

Anyway, if someone out there can help or has advice, it will be appreciated. I am currently bidding on a pair of tickets on ebay...I am currently the highest bidder, but there is still almost 3 days left for this auction, so I know I will be outbid soon unless fate intervenes...so I need a possible second option if this falls through.

Thanks much. Go Pack Go!

Favre To Join The Vikings...

I just heard on Packers Radio - WDUZ 107.5 in Green Bay - Chris Havel is reporting that 2 of his "reliable" sources have confirmed that the Vikings are flying down to Hattiesburg to pickup Brett Favre and he will be signing a contract with the Vikqueens today. Sidenote: Havel said he wouldn't bet his life on this, but after hearing what Jay Glazer was hearing from the Vikqueen players themselves about the deal and Favre joining the Vikes was a done deal. We'll see...

Yesterday I heard an interview on ESPN Radio with a NY Jets reporter that last year, Brett wouldn't learn the new terminology in New York, he made the rest of the team learn his terminology for each play, and that the offensive coordinator there could only install half of his plays, the simple ones, even during the later part of the season and that the staff in NY ran the ball in the red-zone more than they had ever before. I guess they didn't trust Favre all that much. Now some this was due to the trade happening late in training camp, but this year, Favre had the chance to join the Vikqueens way earlier to learn this stuff and go through the repetitions that would make his joining the team much easier. It's interesting that didn't...

Now the Hattiesburg Press is reporting that Brett Favre got on a plane by himself and headed to Minnesota and Star Tribune is reporting that BF is joining the Vikes today.

Good luck Brett Favre, hope you don't get hurt in your first game, I want you around so the Packers defense can put down, put you down for good.

Lee
________________________________

The one thing that bothers the hell out of me is that everyone assumes that the viqueens are going to beat the hell out of everyone because of BF. The viqueens are a good team and an average qb could bring them further than last year. BF isn't what he used to be. He is an average qb now with a great history(Packer history) behind him. We are assuming that Brent will do it all by himself. Remember he has other very good players with him. Oh yea. He also has the Packers defense on the other side of the ball. Maybe, at last, the Packers can add to the league leading interception total that Brent has, instead of all the other stats that they helped him build.

fbg3

Hey fbg3, there's 3 records BF is after, the consecutive starts currently held by Viking Jim Marshall, BF will break that record if can make it to and start his 14th game this year. Beating all 32 teams in the league, Peyton Manning was the first to beat 31, Tom Brady 2nd, and BF third, but he gets a crack at the Packers twice year. The other record is the "intercepted by all 32 teams in the league" record, he probably doesn't want that one, but none the less, its coming for him...  BK

I guess I was wrong and now the dysfunction of the Oakland Raiders look like silliness compared to the ruthlessness at Lambeau.

If the Purple go on and beat the Pack both games this season then all 111,000 shareholders should move in and clean house. The train had left the station and now it has stopped in Minneapolis. I hope TT escapes this saga with just a mere memory of a series of events that went wrong, if not we could be looking at Waterloo, complete with slow merchandise sales and a decline in ticket request. And the once united fan base, which now stands divided, will resort to nasty name calling and rude accusations of how much a fan they are. Thanks Thompson, McCarthy, Murphy thanks for grinding our devotion to a screeching halt.

Wow just think Al Davis is looking like a rhodes scholar right about now.

With all due respect, to me the Viqueens are simply playing Hearts, and they just signed the Queen of Spades. Now they've gotta go for 'em all. Too bad for them that their Top Queen probably won't have enough gas in the tank to get them that last heart in February (or more likely in January, or even December). The longer he stays in their hand, the longer it will be before they develop their franchise QB and the necessary chemistry around him. I'm looking forward to long-term dominance over our competitors to the west.

I suspect that this was mainly a lucrative (and so far, a very successful) attempt to get bandwagon fans back in the seats in Minneapolis.

Brett Favre was a Green Bay Packer. Probably the best ever to don a Packer uniform maybe even a NFL jersey. It is a tough pill to swallow to watch him in a Viqueens jersey and helmet, but being pissed at him and wishing him ill will is just silly. Favre has ate, drank, slept, and bled football his whole like. The man still wants to play ball. Let him play ball. We would be selfish as fans to tell a man who has accomplished what he has to tell him "NO, don't play for the Vikings because I don't want my memory of how I want to remember Brett Favre to be tarnished." I look at it this way. I get to see a legend play one more year and he is most likely going to kick ass as usual. Go Pack! Go Brett!

BK - I love the BF drama, especially since it is a distraction to the Viking team and us Packer fans, but not to the boys out on Ray's practice field. Great theatre for the year. Thanks Brett! I'm not sure how I want this drama to play out. Here one potential, filled with 4s:
  1. #4 Favre leads the Vikings to a 12-4 season, good enough for a wild card spot. Favre has a respecatable year, plays all games and continues all of his records, including INTs...boosted by the 4 picks he throws in 2 losses at the hands of the Packers.
  2. Packers go 12-4, NFC Central champs due to head to head vs Vikes.
  3. Wild card Vikings, upset their way through the first 2 rounds of the playoff, set up to meet Packers at Lambeau.
  4. 4 below zero - frozen tundra below - sharp wind above - and 65,704 bundled fan in green and gold, and a smiling Ted Thompson greet our hero at the corner of Oneida and Lombardi. Close game, Viking defense fails to hold on 4th and 4 late in the game, ensuing drive AR to DD to tie the game. Vikes return kickoff to the 4, Ryan Longwell goes wide right on an 11 yard try with 4 seconds left. In OT Favre throws his 8th pick of the year (4th in the game) against his former team. Packers are NFC champs.
  5. Packers win 13th championship and their 4th Super Bowl defeating the Dolphins in the Super Bowl (resurgent Dolphins led by Pennington is AFC MVP, Jets go 4-12 and don't have a winning season again until BF is enshrined in HOF in 2015).
This is going to be GOOD!

I don't think this is that big a thing a this point. Brett was kicked out of Green Bay. He is near the end of the career and his effectiveness is severely limited, so what is everyone so upset about. He was not coming back anytime soon to a "Let's all get along" ceremony with Ted at Lambeau. IF some other team offers you 10-12 million and your not taking that pay check you are kidding yourself. You don't have to love him or hate him you just have to beat him on the football field. I think the current Packer team should be able to do that. It will be a great story line and will allow AROD the opportunity to bury the ghost of Favre at Lambeau. However, if the Packers lose both games to the Vikings do you fire Ted? It will be a great story line!!

Brett Favre is a pop star, not a football player. A 39/40 year old man cannot possibly survive an entire NFL season after shoulder surgery by blowing off every shred of offseason workouts, including training camp. Brett should know this, since the only good year he's had in the last 5 was when he committed himself to the entire offseason. How can he possibly think this year will be different? With Brett, it's all about Brett...and $12 million.

It'll be fun to watch Brett run out of steam down the stretch and bumble away his teams fortunes, just as he has almost every year since 1996.....For all the records and accolades, people seem to forget that after '97, his late season/playoff performances have been generally miserable. So how he becomes the "go-to guy" to get the Vikings out of their playoff drought is really beyond me. Ride out the inevitable hot September start, and enjoy the usual slow fade, Packer fans. By December (if not before) Viking fans (and probably players) will be bemoaning Brett's presence (just as the Jets did last year)and he will put his standard exclamation mark on their season by throwing a game-changing INT late in a January game to end the season the way all Viking seasons do.....with a loss.

Let him go to the Queens. Isn't his record there like 2 and 12. His best gift to the Packers will be lose 2 games against us. Our defense should be getting ready for 7 interceptions in 2 games. Go Brett, please go......

Roy Speed / Grafton WI.

Hey Roy, thanks for commenting, Reggie White was retired for a full year before he went the Panthers, and 2nd, it was the Panthers, not the Vikings, not the Bears. He also only played in GB for 6 years (Eagles 8yrs, Panthers 1yr), not 16 like Favre has. For the record, BF is 6-10 in the HumptyDome with 19 INT's and for the most part, even with one of last years AFC pro bowl QBs (22tds 22ints - I still LOL everytime I type that) Minnesota's going nowhere this year, like all their previous years of exsistance.  BK

Even Cris Carter couldn't stomach how 'ol Wilfy and Childress handled this one. They can have the circus. The Viqueen nation better get the Pepto bottles ready so they can stomach the league's leader for interceptions playing for their team. Packers 17 Browns 0...

Best line in this preseason blow-out came from the Cleveland TV Announcers on what positives could be taken from the game...
"The next time we play the Packers on October 25th in Cleveland, because of this (lopsided Packers win), maybe the Packers will take us lightly."
Don't talk about playing better, or how the Packers outplayed the Browns on almost every level, maybe, just maybe the Pack will be overconfident when we meet again. Hilarious.

Packers roll the Browns in a preseason game that means almost nothing... Most of the Packers played well, with kudos to LB Desmond Bishop who played aggressively by getting a sack and an INT. Add in RB Tyrell Sutton with 16 carries for 91 yards showed what a little tough quick guy can do running the ball.

Buy The Lady A Drink...

A large woman, wearing a sleeveless sun dress, walks into a bar in downtown Minneapolis after another Vikings loss. She raises her right arm, revealing a huge, hairy armpit as she pointed to all the people sitting at the bar and asked, "What man here will buy a lady a drink?"

The bar went silent as the patrons tried to ignore her. But down at the end of the bar, an owl-eyed drunk Gunny Sergeant slammed his hand down on the counter and bellowed, "Give the ballerina a drink!" The bartender poured the drink and the woman chugged it down.

She turned to the patrons and again pointed around at all of them revealing the same hairy armpit and asked, "What man here will buy a lady a drink?"

Once again the same Marine slapped his money down on the bar and said, "Give the ballerina another drink!"

The bartender approached the Marine and said, "Say pal, it's not my business if you want to buy the lady a drink, but why do you keep calling her a ballerina?"

The Gunny replied, "Any woman who can lift her leg that high has got to be a ballerina."

Speak Out Spew Off...

There's one thing (OK more than 1, probably 10) that's been bugging me this whole off-season, and it's the jab at the Packers Defense for switching to the 3-4, and the time it's going to take for the Packers to successfully use it this year. That's BULLSHIT!!! Notice how QB Jay Cutler joins the Bears, and now their Super Bowl Bound. Brett Favre originally thinking about joining the Vikqueens, Super Bowl Bound! Somehow other teams don't have to transition into anything, presto, whammo, cue the marching band... I can remember BF's relationship with WR Donald Driver and a Packers-Bears game a few years ago. The Pack was waiting all game long for the Bears to line up in a specific defensive alignment, it finally happened in the 3rd quarter, and all it took was a glance by BF to DD and it was clearly understood, forget the play called in the huddle, run the play they had been waiting all game for.... A glance, no hand waving, no audible, no head nods, just a glance and a 22 yard TD pass. How is Cutler supposed to develop that with the WR's in Chicago in less than 1 year... he can't. How was BF supposed to do that Minnesota this year... he wasn't going to.

Now back to the Packers and the new 3-4 defense that's being installed. Can anyone name one team that rolls a 3-4 defense on a consistent basis game after game after game. I can't. That's the beauty of what's about to happen to teams that play the Packers this year. Last time I checked these are professional football players we're talking about, not a group of 8th graders, and the opposing teams are going to have more trouble guessing what the Packers D is doing, then the Packers D is going to have figure out what the offense is up to. The 3-4 is pro-actionary, not reactionary like what we saw last year with underwhelming Bob Sanders running the show.

Last year, the Packers offense was top-5, this year it will be in the top-10 again and I'm going on record that the Packers defense with this year with new coordinatior Dom Capers and LB coach Kevin Greene, will also be top-10. Screw the naysayers!

I agree the Packs defence was in jail the last few years. Bob Sanders was a mental midget attempting to run the show, not in the same league as Dom. Crap Capers almost invented the 3-4 he should be able to coach it to a bunch of flesh starved tackling rockets. The reason we will do well is the dextarity and talent of the packer players. Most teams are so filled with a bunch of scrubs of course they have multi year transititions to the 3-4. If the O-line jells watch out baby...A-Rod is going to be a pro bowler and the Pack will be back in the mix come January.

It has been a while so I am trying to catch up reading posts. The kool-aid looks like it has been provided in pint size glasses. We should not have been as bad as we were last season but I I don't see a reason to believe we are going to be a top 10 ranked defense this season. There is a lot of group think going on here. I guess we can screw the naysayer and hope for Capers to help MM right the ship. There is a lot of pressure on this management team this year. All the excuses that were used last year will sound very hollow if we have another average or below average season.

Hey BeerKid........ I'm with ya on this one and will go one farther. I think the Pack has a "dream team" of coaches on defense. Kinda like the coaching staff Holmgren assembled. I 'm thinking the play-offs plus, maybe Super Bowl....... of course, that depends on serious injuries. Always does.

I agree BeerKid-From the looks of it, our defense is going to be able to make some big time plays this year, especially back in the secondary. Woodson/Harris/Collins form a trinity of interception machines, so if Bigby can stay healthy, Harris' spleen doesn't rupture, and Woodson's toe all stay in tact-we're golden. I'm fully confident in Tramon as well, so as long as our line does their job and puts on the pressure-I'm looking for a big year!

Poor Sven And Ole...

So poor Sven and Ole passed away on the same day in a tragic ice fishing accident, and well, they both weren't as wholesome in their lives as they should have been so they were doomed to life in h*ll. Satan put them in an extra hot chamber when they first arrived for punishment. An hour after their first punishment Satan stopped by to see how much pain and anguish they were in and he couldn't believe his eyes. Sven and Ole were down to their underwear sunning themselves with big smiles on their face! Satan demanded to know why they were so happy in the hot room. Sven said, "Well, vee grew up and lived our whooole lives in da state of Minnesota where it is always cold, so ta us dis feels like Florida or Mexico!" So Satan thinks to himself, I'm going to fix this, and he adjusts the temperature so that it is -30 degrees, even colder the Sven and Ole's beloved Minnesota. The temperature immediately falls, ice crystals begin to form, and snow begins to fall on Sven and Ole.

In 30 minutes later, Satan walks back past Sven and Ole's torture chamber and sees Sven and Ole dancing around, laughing, and giving each other high five's. This really makes Satan mad, and he bursts in and demands, "Now what is so great about -30 degrees???" Ole is quick to respond, "Brett Favre always said, I'll play for Minnesota when hell freezes over!!!"

Technical Maintenance Tonight...

Hey gang, Norbert the Online Web Administrator and Technical Consultant for Packer Palace here. Tonight, sometime after 8PM PST, I'm going to start messing around with the Blog portion of Packer Palace and you might have some difficulties because of the maintenance work that needs to be done. The Blog has turned into a 1000LB monster and I'm going to shed 998LB's of it off into an Archival Retirement area that will still be accessible, just organized into a different behind-the-scenes section of Packer Palace, with only the 2009 July and August posts showing up as current.

So expect some errors later tonight, expect some errors tomorrow as I continue to test and re-arrange some things that I haven't considered yet, but in the end, all will run smoother for BeerKid and BeerScout and they will be much happier when they get back around to posting what's on their minds without the delays and aggravation that's currently hindering them.

The other sections of Packer Palace, the Rockwood Lodge, the Logo section, etc, should not be affected in anyway and if all goes well, you won't even notice that I've trampled all over the place.

Update: I just went ahead did most of what I wanted to change in the last 3 hours (it's now 6pm pst) and well, there's still some issues but I don't think anyone visiting is going to notice what I'm doing anyway, so.... thanks for being patient not complaining 'bout a'thing.

Final Update: 9pm pst - BeerScout gets the thanks for the Torpedo Ales.... with a large Jack & Coke earlier, the transmogrifien process was a complete success!!!

Hi jeff, no need for apologies... you're welcome to comment on anything, anytime you like (just accept the consequences) and anyway, it looks like BF might actually not play this year after all... maybe he should have had that surgery back in March, and listening to Chris Havel on The Fan 107.5, he mentioned several times that he wondered about one of his knees and one of his hip-joints may be closer to the real reason he doesn't feel ready to go this year. You may also want to checkout - Elroy and the Diehards - Cheesehead Special - especially the 'We love Brett Favre' song. Which brings me to another ancient body, QB Jeff George, he may have looked great on his workout tapes he sent around, but who believes he would survive his first big hit without an injury sidelining him for the year... almost no one is my bet.  BK

Packers Training Camp...

Packers training camp has been running for a day now and you may want to spend some time at the following sites: It's where I've spent most of my time... anyway to sum up the news, DL Cullen Jenkins passed is physical and is participating, LB Nick Barnett did not, and was put on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list, and rookie B.J. Raji is still unsigned and at this point, probably missing Day 2 of Packers Training Camp. Everyone else on the roster has looked both good and bad, making more dumb plays than you would anticipate, but then that is just what you would expect at this point, in the middle of Day 2 with the 3rd practice session barely an hour away.
