Packers 2nd Place NFC North 7-4...

Feels like Monday morning... but I guess it's only Saturday, many are still in the woods looking for the largely over-reported herds of deer that are still successfully outwitting the hunters up to this point... Packers succeed on a big Thanksgiving Day game for their 3rd straight win by downing the Detroit Lions 34-12. A hat-tip to Stone's Ruination IPA for the assist in keeping the game exciting and relevant while I was fighting to keep my eyes open during the game from the 2nd straight day of my coma induced food overdose of turkey, stuffing, taters & yams...

It was close, but RB Ryan Grant's elbow was down before he fumbled in the end-zone... kind of hilarious actually, coach Mike McCarthy throwing the red challenge flag to make sure it was a Safety, and not Lions TD. That might be the 2nd time the coach has done that... with the Lions only getting a FG on the ensuing drive, for 5 points total instead of the TD from this fiasco, it was a modest 2 point advantage to the Pack. Worth the challenge.

Rodgers Rolled, Stafford Struggled, Culpepper Fumed, Woodson Shined, etc, etc I could go on all day... Driver Dominated... A great game, a ThanksKilling Day Special!

BK--Injury aside, I don't know how much we should adjust for any player. I hear fans(?)bitching about AK and others not getting sacks etc. What is the TEAM defense ranking this year compared to last year.

dfarmer

Hey dfarmer, why according to the stats at NFL.Com - in yards allowed from scrimmage the Packers' defense is 1st in the NFL... 12th in points allowed. Compared to last season's 20th and 22nd... the Packers D is playing much better. and why hell, it shows. The Pack already has 1 more win than last year. BK

I was glad that I didn't have to watch that infuriatingly silly rolling hand motion of Culpepper's !! Go Pack !! One hand motion that I do miss is Big 'Ol Gilbert Brown's grave digger, but Jolly's hands in the QB's face is pretty cool.

Happy WIN! Dulpepper fumed is right... heh, heh. I got a kick out of that. I couldn't believe how, with the game out of reach and Stafford wincing in pain before, during, and after every throw, the Lions coaches left him in there! For crying out loud, way to try to ruin your 21-year old #1 draft pick QB! So the Pack gets almost a second bye-week now... good for the team, but bad for ME. I get no Packers fix today. Can't wait for the Ravens on Monday Night - GO PACK!!

7-4, wildcard leader for the moment. It's great to see this team finally winning in spite of their weaknesses, and the bad things that invariably happen during the course of a game. Last year, they couldn't do that. Let's hope it's a permanent development. The Pack is definitely playing better now than at any point this year. And if they keep Aaron off his ass, they can play with anybody. Charles Woodson for president.

Ruppert

Hey Ruppert, I will 2nd that "Woodson for President" recommendation and now expecting at least one road playoff game for the Packers, and then a showdown against the Saints or Vikings again. This could be charmed yet.  BK
_________________________________________

BK -- Kampmen's injury screws everything up but WILL he be a free agent next year with no labor agreement??? His sacks are down but team defense is rated higher than last year and isn't that what we want???

dfarmer

Hey dfarmer, it's what us fans want, but it may not be what soon to be free agent AK wants. He may be looking elsewhere for a 4-3 defense again... I believe the Pack should adjust a little bit on defense, AK is primarily a pass-rushing DE, then run-stuffer, then chase the TE down the field in pass coverage kind of guy... you have to design his role to take advantage of his strengths and then there's the money. AK's injury screws up TT's position on trading, or franchising him as much as screwing up AK's position for free agency. AK may have played his last game as a Packer...  BK

Ok, I'm too musically illiterate to pull this off, but will someone PLEASE take that New York song that's on the radio alll the time now (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys' "Empire State Of Mind"), and change the lyrics and name to fit "Green Bay - Cheesehead State of Mind"??? If you've heard it, you know what I'm talking about and you KNOW it's begging for a Packer version!! Where are the Wedgies when you need them??

Statmark

Hey Statmark, sorry, I neither have that kind of talent... and even though you provided the lyric breakdowns, nor time to pull it off. Go Pack!  BK

Happy Thanksgiving!

Packers Verses Vikings...

The Packers Started Off Looking Great
In The Forty-Niners' Game Last Week
Both On Offense And On Defense
They Looked To Be Playing At Their Peak

Just As The Game Seemed Well In Hand
The Forty-Niners Team Came Alive
As Whatever Message Was Given At Halftime
Caused A Lethargic Team To Be Revived

San Francisco Tossed Some Scoring Balls
But The Packers Were Able To Adapt And Recover
Finding The Way To Control The Ball And The Clock
Which In Green Bay Is Really Something To Discover

Playing Detroit On Thanksgiving
Is An Old-Time Tradition For Green Bay
Even When The Lions Just Are No Good
There Are No Easy Wins On Turkey Day

Last Week Matt Stafford Entered Lions' History
Making A Brave And Gutty Play At Game's End
Regardless Of How The Lions' Season Ends Up
No One Will Question His Toughness Again

But Matt Will Miss Thursday's Contest
'Megatron' Johnson Will Miss It As Well
So The Lions Are Going To Start In A Hole
Which Will Feel Deep And Dark As The Entrance To Hell

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Vikes Have Settled Into Their Role
Of This Season's Designated Bully
The Team That Strolls Onto The Field
Then Dominates Their Opponent Fully
This Is The Role That Had Escaped Them
At Least For The Past Few Seasons
A Lack Of Leadership From The Quarterback
Has Been One Of The Persistent Reasons
Brett Favre Has Become That Leader
And Is Providing Performances Unprecedented
As Packers' Fans Watch From The Outside
It's Easier To See Why He's Been Resented
This Week The Vikings Face The Chicago Bears
A Team That Has Spiraled Into Deep Despair
What's Most Disappointing About The Situation
Is Chicago's Players Just Don't Seem To Care
The Bears Spent A Lot Of Money On A Quarterback
Who Has Fallen Far Short Of His 'Savior's' Expectation
Whether Falling Into Opponents Hands Or Onto The Ground
Each Of His Passes Provide Only Frustrations
Even Their Once-Feared Defensive Team
Is Merely A Shadow Of Their Former Selves
For This Team To Have Any Chance Against The Vikings
Will Take The Help Of Angels Or Maybe Elves....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Both The Pack And Vikes Should Win This Week
Barring Some Sort Of Terrible Collapse
Or If These Teams Trip Themselves Up With Their Egos
Which Is Why These Games Are Known As Traps

Speak Out Spew Off...

It's only 26-1/2 hours until kickoff and I feel like starting the countdown by getting the pre-game partying started now!!! Right now! Packers are shuffling around behind the scenes trying to figure out if their defense is going to hold up against the Lions with Al Harris and Aaron Kampman gone for the year due to injured knees. Good thing it's the Lions that are first up on the slate. This Thanksgiving Day game won't be any kind of push-over for the Pack, but by staying focused, they should easily beat the weaker Lions team and run away with the game at Ford Field.

Enjoy the Holiday. Happy Hunting! Happy Thanksgiving! Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go... Go Pack Go...

Hey Scott in CF, nothing subconscious about the reference at all, as an "engaged" Packer fan, I expect my team to win every week, and when I find effort lacking in either the front office or on the field, all sorts of things start bubbling and emerging to the surface.  BK
_____________________________________

Still think maybe Kampmen may not be suited for 3-4 so maybe trade him for what you can get???????

dfarmer

Hey dfarmer, Kampman is a free agent after this year, we would have to "tag" him and then trade him... maybe. He's still a pretty decent pass-rushing DE and there's no reason to always run a pure 3-4 on every play... Both Aaron Kampan and Al Harris are facing the same situation Mark Tauscher was facing last year. Can they be ready before the season starts and if not, then it's natural for the Packers to want them both back on the team.  BK

The most popular sport on earth, and you fools can't even sell out a stadium every week without last-second help from local businesses. The NFL would be better off if the drag queens moved to some place with fans that would actually show they cared about their team by splurging for a game ticket instead of trolling blogs of the other teams in the division and whining. Go follow the queens to L.A. and take Jeff Ear-Stink with you.

Presagin' Packer Prognosticators...

Q:  Will the 6-4 Green Bay Packers stand tall and prevail in their Thanksgiving Day road game against the surging 2-8 Detroit Lions?
A:  Yes - Definitely!

Magic Gold G-Ball

It's Thanksgiving Day. It's Packers at the Lions Day. Packers roll like warm butter down the side of a baked potato... and make no mistake, win over the Browns or not, the Lions are still the A'laTurkey Extraordinaire in the NFL this year and the Packers should win with a 28-10 stuffing filled game for all of us that are comfortably watching from the sofa in our own near-coma inducing stuffing experience.

Packers 2nd Place NFC North 6-4...

Packers first overwhelm the 49ers in the first half, and then ease up a bit in the 2nd half and outlast the Niners 30-24. Improving their record to 6-4 puts the Packers in the 6th NFC Wildcard position. At this point in the year it comes down to the NFC Conference record, with the Pack's 5-3 fitting between both 6-4 teams the Eagles at 5-2 and the Giants at 4-3. Now the Pack need to finish the season by winning out....

Tough injuries to DE (oops! OLB) Aaron Kampman and CB Al Harris, both suffered knee injuries that may affect their season. Kampman walked off the field, and then rode in the passenger's seat of the injury cart to the locker room, so with 6 games left we'll see if plays anymore this year. According to reports, Al Harris was unable to put any weight on his injured knee so that's a good indicator that he's done for the year.

Big win on the playoff front, and then tough losses on the injury front. That's why it's called the National Football League!

Hey Beerkid, "Sweet vic-tor-y" but at a very high price. Both Al and Aaron are gone for the season. "D'OH!"

We need Kampman back on the squad next season and seasons to come, otherwise Da-Queens will scoop him up and another high profile player will be lost to the "Dark Side"... I mean seriously, can you imagine the "Mullet" and Kampman on the same team?? Can you hear me THEODORE!!??!!?

With the game in the balance and A-ROD having a career game (and Al and Aaron carted off to the locker room) I was reliving the Tampa Bay game in my head and thinking to myself, "Self... I think Coach 'Not in the Right Mind Set' McCarthy may want to bring in his pet dogs at night if we lose this game."

Once again his play calling was "suspect" in the stretch and if S.F. had at least an extra time out and 3 more minutes on the clock there could have been an alternative ending. Also, one last thing, could we find a return man for punts who will attack the ball on the fly and sacrifice his body and mind to bring "the rock" to the end zone instead of letting the ball hit the turf and allow the offense an additional 10-20 yards to work with??? C'mon Tramon, it's time to MAN UP and catch those balls.

Let's take De-Toilet and run the F'n table to the playoffs!!! GO PACK GO AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!!!

You minnesota fans have waffled over a new stadium, more than favre's waffled over retiring -- if anybody could ever believe that. If you fans and your owner would shut-up, and pay-up for a new stadium, we wouldn't even be talking about this. Actually the vikings leaving minnesota would be a fantastic thing for me. It'd mean that they wouldn't blackout the Packers games, and I could see 'em all without paying the $300 the NFL ticket... When you quit your whining and jump ship, you too, can become a Packer Fan!

Speak Out Spew Off...

Some quick words on the departure of QB Brian Brohm from off the Packers Practice Squad and onto the Buffalo Bills active roster. Doesn't matter too much whether GM Ted Thompson offered to match the money (and some say he didn't quite actually do that over a bonus) or HC Mike McCarthy offered Brohm a roster spot on the Packers roster. As a QB, Brohm never seemed to "get it" here and when pressed he was always high and late on his throws. Not saying that QB Matt Flynn is much better, it just that Flynn will pull it down and take off running. Which is effective at moving the chains and getting first downs, well, more effective than Brohm at it.

If I was GM I would have released Brohm earlier this year during camp cut-downs. But good luck to Brian, I wish him no ill will, and hopefully he'll "get it" and continue his NFL Career in Buffalo. Although that's been a recent graveyard for young QB's to make it in the NFL, it's a better chance than being in Green Bay behind Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn.

I saw today that C Scott Wells has been cleared to play this weekend for the Packers in the 49ers game this Sunday. It was always close to whether Jason Spitz had really beat him out during the preseason, and it's luckier for GB still that TT didn't trade Wells away because it won't matter what's happened to Spitz, (Editorial Note: Spitz is on IR, so that means Evan Dietrich-Smith is the backup) the Pack need Wells to be running in prime condition for all the rest of the games this year if the Pack have a chance at anything.

Hey #66 Chica...in reference to your "Why doesn't Beer Scout ever post here?" question. it's a start, BK...the Dallas win. i know that 1250 am sports in Milwaukee with Leroy Butler (guest) and Gary Ellerson and the hosts were SCREAMING at each other regarding what this win meant. it was interesting. the host (i think) was still saying that, though it was a win, questions still abound and he's basically at the same mindset he was before about the Pack. Butler was defending the Pack - saying, 'why are we "on their asses" when they won the game?'

anyway, it's intriguing for me to hear the discussion while i'm not supporting the Pack. and it's difficult not being able to enjoy watching Packer games with my father (who supports Favre and the Packers but really would rather just SLEEP...he's 72).

Presagin' Packer Prognosticators...

Q:  Will the Green Bay Packers overcome their shortcomings and continue their climb on the win column in their home match-up against the San Francisco 49ers?
A:  Most Likely.

Magic Gold G-Ball

Is this one of those rip-tide phenomenon's where a rock-steady pull is beginning to tug us Packer fans along with the uprising fortunes of the 5-4 Packers? The 49ers come to town, similar setup to the GB-Dallas game, only the Niners score less... so one might think that the outcome of the Packer-49er game will be similar. So do I despite injuries to Center... Packers are getting healthy and they do the consistent thing again this week and remain standing in line for Playoff spots with a 26-17 win over San Francisco.

Beer Kid

Sorry for missing last week's prediction, I know the gambling establishment keys all their motivations based on my exalted words espoused here, but unlike our friend Bob in NM who reportedly has pissed off his wife Judy, for drinking but not saying one word the whole Packer Cowboy game long... just in case something bad happened during the game. BeerScout and I happily consumed copious quantities of Ale (Stone and something with Stoopid in the name) in repeated prayer-like gestures of positive influencing us into hand-slapping shout-out-loud exuberance... back to last week where the Magic Golden G-Ball may have predicted that the Packers would "Hell no there, eh, Pack put a hard smackdown on the Cowgirls" and (Editorial Note: Hold on there... those words aren't even in the G-Ball's vocabulary.  BeerKid: The words 'a' and 'on' and 'no' are... I'm just paraphrasing.) and I may have predicted that "the Packers would win 17-0 unless the Cowboys got a late consolation TD." (Editorial Note: We note the use of "may have predicted" and laugh along with any who judge BK's sincerity.) or something similar.  BeerKid

Because The Lions Are Just Terrible
It's Unclear Just What They Could Possibly Do
That Would Make Watching Them Even Bearable

This Week The Seahawks Roll Into Town

And A Really Long List Of Problems
That For Years They've Been Trying Hard To Fix

The Only Really Interesting Part Of This Matchup
Is The Meeting Of The Old Master With One Of His Students
As Matt Hasselbeck Was Drafted By The Packers
And Then Moved On When It Appeared To Be Prudent

But The Vikings Won't Wax Sentimental
As They Put Hasselbeck's Team Squarely In Their Sights
And When They Bring Their Talent To Bear On These Guys
They Will Simply Have Them Dead To Rights

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Packers Welcomed An Old Nemesis Last Week
As The 'Pokes Brought Their Flashy Record To Green Bay
Fully Expecting To Push The Home Team Around
But The Packers Did The Pushing Much To Dallas' Dismay
It's Not Quite Clear What Fueled The Packers' Defense
But It Was Simply Amazing To Watch Their Play
As They Manhandled Tony Romo And The Cowboys
Leaving The Team And Their Plans In Disarray
The One Black Spot Was Green Bay's Offense
In Particular The Pack's Porous Offensive Line
But No Matter How Bad Their Performance Is
The Coach Will State He Thinks "They Played Just Fine"
This Week The Forty-Niners Come To Town
Looking To Rediscover Their Winning Ways
Last Week They Broke A Four-Week Losing Streak
By Showing The Bears How Defense Should Be Played
This Of Course Will Present Problems For The Pack
Still Searching For A Way To Save Aaron Rodgers' Life
Looking For The Combination Of Offensive Linemen
That Will Decrease His Pain And Strife
The Niners' Offense Has Been Less Than Consistent
Despite Having An Excellent Running Back
It's Lack Of Consistency In Their Passing Game
That Always Stops This Team In Its Tracks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Fact That Seattle Must Now Play The Vikings
Has To Make Them Feel Like A Sacrifice
While The If The Packers Want To Earn Respect
Teams Like The Forty-Niners Must Pay The Price

What a treat to see the Packers' defense play like they did early on this season. Now if the offensive line can just keep Aaron from being driven into the ground like a nail.... Meanwhile it teacher/student at MOA Field at the Metrodome when Matt Hasselbeck faces off againt his old mentor, Brett Favre. Let's keep in mind that the ONLY TD pass he threw for the Packers happened in the Metrodome--maybe history can repeat...

Packers 2nd Place NFC North 5-4...

Even the consolation TD in the closing moments of the game by the Cowboys couldn't stop the big smiles from all of us Packer fans worldwide as our team, the Green Bay Packers put a beat down on Dallas 17-7 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Yeah Baby!!! That still gives the Pack an outside chance, well they are currently tied with four teams at 5-4 for the 2 wildcard spots, Eagles get one with their NFC conference record, and the Falcons get the other, I think because of the Pack's loss to Tampa Bay. So barely on the outside looking in...

Now to get caught up on with some other things, like the 30 some odd posts by all of the volunteer contributors to Packer Palace since the game Sunday. Just need to go through them and clean them up some here and there and approve them. (Editorial Question:  When have you ever dis-approved a comment?  BeerKid:  Why every comment, ahem, every valuable contribution offered has been published, a few were unfortunately lost to my 7-thumb typing technique, and the worst one was "**** **" starred out for it's entire length due to offensive content directed at a player.) We haven't won the Cheesehead TV's award for best designed site by letting all the staff run around wild.... did you? Got to keep things all clean and tidy. Now back to talkin' the Packers.

I remember ages ago when I joined some friends to visit their cabin on the lake over by Antigo, learned how to water ski, learned how to tandem ski with another shoulder to shoulder, so a girl could be up on our shoulders, circling the smallish lake all the while the fishermen were complaining that it was past 5pm curfew and we should get "Get the hell off of the lake!" Well, learning how to do something well and beyond expectations, your first time out, being tested at any endeavor and succeeding, is part of the challenges and the meanings make life. So along comes OLB Brad Jones, drafted in the 7th round, ask to substitute for kap'n krunched with concussion Aaron Kampman, and he delivers big time. No big mistakes, 7 tackles, 1 for a loss. Either Dallas didn't prepare to take advantage of him, or this LB can play. Time will tell and we'll see how much playing time the coaches can give him in the coming games.

Question of the Day?  I'm sure I have the same question as everyone else has had.... if OL JT Lang practiced all summer mini-camp long at Right Tackle, and did so well (by Packers recent OL standards) in his first time starting at RT against the Cowboys. Why wasn't Lang put at RT from the get-go? Puh-leaze... as much as Allen Barbre has a legit right to compete for the position of RT, Breno Giacomini was kept on the roster over drafted, then first to the practice squad, then lost to the Buffalo Bills, OT Jamon Meredith. Mistakes just like these two alone can get GM's deservedly fired.

TT made the best decision for the franchise in dumping the "diva #4". Jury is out on MM but the players didn't have to give him the game ball after Dallas game!!!!

How about some maybe's:  Maybe some good defensive ends can't adjust to 3-4 defense. Maybe looking at the whole picture it's best for the team to trade a good player in a different defense for a player who fits better in the 3-4.

Now what do we do that we've beaten Dallas at home. I believe we are seeing what this team can really do. Strong D, O-Line did a fair job, running game improved, but could be better, and special teams did not give up the big play. Woodson played to his Heisman potential. This is sure a roller coaster, but can we see a Wild card and going back to the dome to beat the ByeQueens as their wimpy schedule can hand them the division. The saga continues, but encouraged by beating Dallas. I was at the game and "gave er". Let's hope for the true Favre to show up these next 7 games...) The giving interception Favre to help the ByQueens go no where.

A few things. First I have to say I have never seen such a bitching group of fans than the Packer fans. It has gotten so bad that we should move the franchise to LA just as a reminder that nothing is to be takes for granted. To all you other Packer Fans shut the hell up, stop your incessant whining, and enjoy the game. Second A-Rod is a stud. Is he perfect? No. He needs an offenseive line which TT will get next draft and after we win 3 out of the next 4 SuperBowls you same stupid whining fans will be naming a street after him. Lastly, it was nice to the team answer the bell and beat a Dallas team on the roll.

One other thing I forgot to mention. Again for all you homer fans - todays game was the last played by Aaron Kampman. He does not fit this team and will not be here next year. If he is than the bitch to fire Thompson has some legitmacy. Goodbye Aaron. I appeciate your effort and marginal athleticism. Go Pack Go.

Hey Juan, technically it's not bitching and whining... it's constructive criticism, of course your mileage may vary depending on the brew you're drinking.  BK

Still in wild card contention! All alone in 2nd place--and this is even bigger because we might end up being tied with Dallas for that wild-card birth, and now we have the tiebreaker. I never thought this game would unfold like it did, but dammit, I'll take it! Go Packers!

It's time that TT stepped up and did something. His mentor built through the draft but did add great players throught free agency. We've wasted alot of time and effort by not strengthening the line. Give Rodgers time to throw and he can do something with the ball. Open holes for Grant and he can get some yards. Let's get someone who can do the job. If he can't then get rid of them. That includes the coaches. By the way, did anyone notice the the defense played real well against Dallas and Kampman didn't play. Either play him at his natural position or trade him.

Lady K

Hey Lady K, a win is a win, and look for more of this as the season plays out... but slow-down defensive football with 17-7 scores are hard to drink successfully during.... you need to have big plays to have a big party!  BK

WOO-HOO !! Of course I have to say "Hats off" to the Packers defense who plyed so far over their heads today that they needed oxygen everytime they went to the sidelines !! If there was one real point they made today-it's how a REAL 3-4 OLB can make the system work, and why Aaron Kampman is such a poor fit.....

The offense did what it had to-and I was proud of them for that. It can't be easy to keep going out there when you have NO offensive line help....

And mm's coaching? I sort of thought the story of mike and Co came down to two challenges-First the knee-jerk challenge when Jordy was a yard short of the score...and even more sadly the one mike threw when he didn't have one, and the way he tried to hide on the sideline after that....Too bad. There are some very talented players on the roster-too bad they don't have anyone who'll use their talents properly.... BUT---Pounding the 'Pokes Promotes Packers' Pride !!!!

Jeff Ircink

Hey Jeff, first off, you misunderstood my comment - if a team can garner only 12 decent plays it's no surprise when they lose, even to 0-7 teams. 2nd off, I'm not in the business of offering retractions to former Packer fans who've gone purple... no way, not going to do it.  BK

now that i'm reading your original comment, you're right, BK...i did misread your comment. i apologize. nice win tonite against Dallas.

jeff ircink

Hey Jeff, of course now, the Pack win with only 12 decent plays because Dallas couldn't get more than 2 decent plays... in the end, the Pack only beat a team similar to them, at home, but it's a good start to the finish of the season.  BK

Packers Verses Vikings...

The Vikings Have To Be Giving Themselves A Pinch
Just To Make Sure That This Season Is Not Dream
Things Are Going Much Better Than Anyone Anticipated
Even The Strongest Believers In This Team

How In The World Did They Get To Seven And One
A Record And Success Track Totally Unexpected
For Even With Sage Rosenfels Under Center
This Vikings Team Would Have Been Widely Disrespected

It's Not "All Day" Peterson That's Made The Difference
Nor An Increasingly Leaky Defensive Team
Even Percy Harvin Has To Step Aside
As Favre Plays Better Than Even Chilly Dreamed

In A Twist Of Situations This Week
The Lions Head Into The Vikings' Den
History Says That They'll Get Beaten Up
And This Week It Should Happen Once Again

The Lions Did Break Their Losing Streak This Season
But Then Managed To Fall To Their Old Ways
Detroit's Fans Were Still Convinced That They'd Lose
Even When They Were Ahead Last Sunday

Starting This Week The Vike's Schedule Get Cushy
With A Definite Dearth Of Quality Foes
For The Next Few Weeks They Could Mail It In
Which Will Probably Be Just How It Goes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fresh From A Whippin' By The Vikes
Green Bay Headed For The Florida Sun
At Least They Were Playing A Team With No Wins
So There Should Be No Chance To Be Outdone
It Sure Looked Like That Would Be The Case
As The Packers Took And Held An Early Lead
Though The Bucs Kept Chipping Away
Surely Green Bay Had All The Points They'd Need
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alas It Didn't Quite Work Out That Way
As The Fourth Quarter Turned Into A Disaster
Aaron Rodgers Got Sacked Four Of His Six Times
And Rookie Josh Freeman Looked Like An Old Master

What Is Somewhat Sad And Disconcerting
Is That The Coach Says "Really Nothing Needs To Be Changed"
Raising The Question Among The Faithful
Is He Watching The Games, Or Is He Just Deranged?

This Week The Cowboys Come To Lambeau
In A Game That Once Looked To Be A Real Barn-Burner
But Unless The Packers Can Pull Off A Miracle
The Game Could Become A Channel-Turner

Dallas' Team Improves Every Week
And Brings In A Record Of Six And Two
Facing Green Bay Won't Give Them Concern
Sad And Unwelcome Words But True

The Lions Only Have The Tiniest Chance
If The Vikings Stumble Over Their Own Feet
While The Packers Will Put Up A Valiant Effort
But The 'Pokes Will Ride Them To Defeat....

In Twenty years, people will remember this as one of the biggest sports blunders ever. Stop sticking up for TT and MM. Yes, we gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it's clear that they made the wrong move. We would have been better off taking Favre's approach and bringing in Randy Moss and making another go of it in 2008. Instead, we build through the draft and look where that's got us. Packers 2nd Place NFC North 4-4...

Packers looked really great on about 12 plays and to no one's surprise, that didn't hold up as the Buccaneers break away from the winless column and humiliate the "hapless in special teams" Packers 38-28. And despite our karma-waving always endlessly looping animations encouraging the outcome of the game, it sounds like OLB Aaron Kampman got a bit of kap'n krunched himself during the game... we try. Here comes more o-line positional changes this week as TJ Lang gets to take his turn and play this time at LG for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys game. It's a fine day to have a drink...

and IF, a big if. If I get to dream-on the next GM and HC of the Packers... I'll go with Mike Holmgrem as GM, Jon Gruden as HC. If money must be laid down, the bet is that TT and MM will still be with us next year and beyond...

Based on Murphy's interview today it does not look like changes are coming any time soon to the PACK. Having grown up under Devine and endured the Starr, Gregg, and Infante years as a young Packer fan, I've seen some pretty pitiful performances by the Green & Gold. But that debacle against Tampa Bay yesterday may, in many ways, be the worst I've ever seen. They broke down in every single facet of the game and, it seemed to me, a lot of those guys have just given up. Between bad schemes every week and the psychological beatdown Minnesota has given us twice in the last month, I think these guys are already looking forward to the off-season.....

Well, at the midway point of the season, the good news is that the Packers aren't a "bad" team. The bad news is that the Packers aren't a "good" team either. We are mediocre. Ugh.

I had an uneasy feeling going into yesterday's game. 0-7 opponent coming off a bye week, starting a rookie, unknown QB, in a stadium that we pretty much never win in ... The Packers had several opportunities, as usual, to put them away, but they could never close the door. Same old recurring problems from the previous 7 games - too many penalties allowing drives to be sustained, poor special teams play, and Rodgers spent another good portion of the game flat on his back. That this stuff is not getting fixed as the season wears on, falls on the coaching staff.

The difference between 5-3 and 4-4 heading into the second-half stretch has never seemed greater than it does right now. *sigh* btw, those orange "creamsicle" uniforms the Bucs were wearing are just plain painful to look at. Ick.

Hey Beerkid, What say you to all you Theodore Thompson boot licking followers now!?! We just lost to an F'n 0-7 team with an F'n Rookie QB .... and it was his FIRST NFL START. Capers, along with TT, Coach "Yes Man" and the Special Teams coach all NEED TO GO!!

Why wasn't McCarthy running the ball more often instead of having A-ROD airing it out for INT's?? Ryan Grant should have had the "Game of his F'n LIFE" but no, instead Coach "Not the Right Mind Set" decides that Ryan's 5.2 yards per carry wasn't doing the job.

Speaking of Jobbed, we have ALL been JOBBED by this A-Hole and our so-called G.M. in his "Ivory Tower" at 1265 Lombardi Avenue. I would like to see Bill Cowher hired as our next Head Coach and bring back Mike Holmgren as our next G.M. and bring back the PRIDE that once was in "Title Town!"

It's time to make some serious changes and if Mark Murphy doesn't have "The Seeds" to do it, then the organization should also send his ass packing as well.

I would like to "blow sunshine" up everyone's ass's by telling you that we should win next Sunday, at home against the Cowboys, but after watching last nights game against the Eagles, well I think they may get the all time sack record for one game and Aaron may collapse in a heap and may need assistance getting off the field. But if that should happen you all know that "Theodore" and Coach "Yes Man" have a solid PLAN B with the QB position should the unthinkable happen, (ahem) Right??

Speaking of A-ROD ... How about getting RID OF THE FUCKING BALL when the pressure is on instead of taking a sack.

CONGRATS to Ahman and GO PACK GO!!

Hey BK. I'm having fun going back in archives and seeing what packer fans were saying right before the season started. It's hilarious! Lots of 13-3 predictions, talk of the packers crushing the Vikings, sacking and intercepting Brett, and even people saying the Packers are Super Bowl bound. You yourself predicted on September 7th that the Vikings would finish 7-9. I'm literally laughing out loud right now. Here's my prediction BK, Vikings 14-2 packers 7-9. Take it to the bank.

McCarthy, you and your coaches are not getting it done either.......special teams, defensive secondary errors, an offensive line that is the laughing stock of the NFL, and a team that is leading the league in penalties. How do you as a group differ from Thompson?

Players...........Bush has pictures of McCarthy or Thompson with a sheep because there is no way he is an asset to the Packers. Jolly needs to grab some pine or just get cut because he is fat, dumb and lazy.........The whole offensive line is just that....offensive. Send 80% of this team somewhere else. Magic Gold G-Ball

Could there be anything more than the proverbial prescriptive tonic of the 0-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the ailing Green Bay Packers this week down in Tampa Bay. The Bucc's are starting rookie QB Josh Freeman and the Pack need a rebound game. Well this is it! The Pack win 27-14 in a deceptive yet in several record breaking ways, 48 minutes of time possession, 730 yards of offense, 9, yes count them, 9 FG's (of 40 yards or less, well technically 38 yards or less) in a winning rout of their former NFC Central brethren. What a day for the history books...

Packers Verses Vikings...

It Was The Answer To A Much-Asked Question
As The Boos Rained Down From Lambeau's Stands
Directed Mostly At The Vikings Quarterback
But Many Were Aimed At Brett The Man

He Didn't Seem Hurt Or Disappointed
Or For That Matter Even Very Surprised
It Certainly Didn't Distract Him
But Instead Lit A Fire In His Eyes

And That Was How The Game Went
With The Vikings Hammering On Green Bay
The Packers Were Overwhelmed And Overmatched
While It All Was Going Minnesota's Way

The Packers Rallied In The Second Half
And Went On Quite The Scoring Run
But Favre Kept Throwing Touchdown Passes
And The Damage Couldn't Be Undone

Adrian Peterson Made Contributions
While Rice And Harvin Did Their Parts
But It Was A Late Scoring Toss To Bernard Berrian
That Proved To Be The Fatal Dart

It Wasn't That The Packers Weren't Trying
But More That They Simply Were Overpowered
The Inability To Stop The Vikings' Pass Rush
Left Aaron Rodgers To Simply Be Devoured

Six More Times He Was Knocked To The Turf
For A Total Of Fourteen In These Two Games
Leaving The Man In Charge Of The Packers' Offense
So Battered He Was Ready To Burst Into Flames
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On The Other Hand The Packers' Defense
Looked Like They Were Moving At A Slower Speed
It's Hard To Believe They've All Forgotten How To Play
And Now It's For A Different Scheme They Plead
At Times This Packers Team Looks Pretty Good
More Often They Just Look Barely Adequate
But The Way They've Played Against The Vikings
Gives Fans Two Games We'd All Like To Forget
The Packers Travel This Week To The Florida Sun
To Face The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Another Team Whose Weekly Performance
Nearly Brings Their Fans To Tears
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Bucs May Have Had Their Problems
But The Packers Have Struggled On Their Field
Hopefully McCarthy And His Coaching Staff
Have Found A Way To Get The Packers Healed....

Hey Jeff, seeing you're the Viking fan who wants to someday, be a Packer fan... I agree with Big Erv, there was no reason for BF to be standing over Jennings... none.... 'cept to be on TV and be seen as someone who cares... which in my estimation is more about rehabbing his tarnished image.  BK

I'm glad the Packer/Vikings games are done. I am tired of the hoopla over Favre. Many of you know I have always liked the guy, but it kills me to see him playing for the Queens. My family knows I hate even watching these games. On top of that he is probably playing better than he has in years and I'm tired of seeing us in this continual rebuilding effort. Thompson has had long enough!!! This - well, we have the youngest team in the NFL, doesn't mean shit to me other than we currently suck.

Thompson should be fired!! We have numerous great possible GM's out there along with great possible new coaches. Thompson has divided Packer Nation, cost us millions in sales and marketing dollars for the future, had a great young QB fall in his lap and is working at getting him killed with the lack of a line around him. In any business organization he would be fired.

United Packer Nation - Fire Thompson and let's us move on!!!

I grew up with the Packers giving coaches and GM's way too long to prove they have no ability to lead our team. We are starting to re-live the past... Hoping for Change.

Just wanted to make a quick comment if possible. First and foremost I am glad I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine who highly recommended it and posts on/checks this site regularly. I agree our line play has been marginal at best without any kind of stability. But we have to fault ARod at some point for, IMO, holding onto the ball too damn long. He has all the tools of being a perennial top 5 QB in the NFL for years to come. He just has to put the talent and the on field intelligence into one complete package regardless of mediocre talent on the front line. We might still suffer sack laden seasons, but I believe it would cut the amount down at least 30% and keep him healthier.

dayzedpackfan

There are still idiots blaming Rodgers for the sack situation? Seriously? Wake up, fools. Plenty of QBs hold onto the ball and try to make a play, most notably Mr. Favre. How about Roethlisberger?

Even if Rodgers throws away 2 or 3 of those sacks into the stands every week, he'd STILL be leading the league in sacks taken. Why? Because our O line is a complete disaster. Was it Aaron Rodgers' fault that NOBODY even TRIED to block Jared Allen on one play? No. I'm not saying AR is all-world, but to keep blaming him when ANY other QB in the league would be taking damn near as many sacks is stupid. Blame the guy who drafted these idiots, and/or blame the O line coach who should be coaching in high school, not the NFL.

Ruppert

Hey Ruppert, I tend to agree with you.... you can't blame Ryan Grant for a crappy running game, you can't blame Aaron Rodgers for taking sacks, when the team's O-Line is a bad as it is. It starts in the trenches... and the Pack is lacking at that position.  BK

I really like most of what I see from Aaron Rodgers, the problem I have is that he seems to make some really poor decisions on third down and other important times in the ball game. I realize he got to sit and watch Favre for 3 years, but is he the guy you would want to have Rodgers emulating? Favre was all or nothing and I am seeing some of that in Rodgers.

Watching the Saints-Atl game I saw Mark Brunell on the sidelines with Brees and thought how great it would be to have a veteran QB on the sidelines for Rodgers to bounce things off of. Hell Favre even had that in McMahon and Pederson.

Packers 2nd Place NFC North 4-3...

Quote of the day - "I can't stand that my QB is on another team." BeerScout

Points to Ponder....
  • Why is Ahman Green returning kickoffs instead of DB Tramon Williams? Tramon is a hell of lot faster and much more elusive than Ahman ever dreamed of being - FAIL!
  • Who in the hell is our offensive coordinator and why is he being paid? If it's McCarthy, maybe the 2nd half game plan should been the 1st game plan too - FAIL!
  • Some of the play-calling was excellent, but when it came to big decisions, the play-calling was horrible, both on offense and defense - FAIL!
  • When are tackles Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton going to be healthy enough to play? I can't even tell if guards Josh Sitton and Daryn Colledge are playing in an acceptable terms because current tackles TJ Lang and Allen Barbre are way below the average for starting linemen in today's NFL - FAIL!
There's more but... it's just a game against a hated rival (for us fans, anyway - not sure about the players on the teams) and the Packers couldn't be bothered to show-up and represent on their home field. Packers lose to the Vikings 26-38 and concede any chance at winning the NFC North this year.

BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life!

It really pisses me off when these "so called" Packer fans are cheering for the viQueens because of Brent Fart. I keep hearing how great he is and the Packers would still be winning if BS, sorry BF, was under center. The argument is the Packers went from 13 wins and 3 loses in 2007 to 6 wins and 10 loses in 2008 only because of Rodgers. Therefore Rodgers is not as good. But they forget that the Packers were 4 wins and 12 loses the year before they were 13 wins and 3 loses. Maybe Rodgers played with number 4 on his back in that year.

1. Where was our vaunted secondary? Woodson.. Collins... Bigby... Harris... Hello? The Packers have probably one of the top-five backfields in the entire NFL. Not yesterday, obviously. Dammit, jsonline had a great article on Woodson and how hungry he is for a Superbowl to cap off his career, and how his time is running short to accomplish it.

2. Receivers? Jennings, Driver, et al ... When Rodgers lines up w/ the 5-receiver set it should be dangerous for the opponents. It didn't click last night. C'mon, Rodgers is a very good qb, and these receivers are quality. What gives?

3. O-Line: BOO!!! One thing about Ron Wolf, he always - *always* - made sure the o-line in Green Bay was stellar. I was watching the UW-Purdue game this past Saturday, Wisconsin has always been known for their monster-O-lines; for YEARS, going back to before Ron Dayne, the Badgers had killer o-lines (Tausch came from there). The ESPN announcer said that the "smallest" O-lineman for 'sconie is 6'5' and 310 lbs. That o-line on the Badgers should be doing double-duty for the Packers right now!~ What a difference that would make for #12! This cast of characters we have on the o-line now is a total joke. ARodg is a human pinata behind these amateurs.

4. It's clear that the 3-4 is going to take an entire season to implement successfully. I still believe in it, but it's a work in progress and I don't know that Capers has all the personnel to execute it well.

This team is just not operating on all cylinders. It's an eight cylinder with only 5 firing.

settle down, BK. you all make predictions every week. am i not allowed ONE prediction in my lifetime. had i said the Packers would win, your retort wouldn't have been quite so hostile, would it? for what it's worth (which won't be much), i thought the Pack came back pretty good in the 2nd half - we were worried. they just don't have all the pieces yet. or maybe they do and they're just not jiving.

jeff ircink

Hey Jeff, I know where you stand, I know you are rooting for Brett Favre (and by extension the Vikings) and if you're not making the prediction here at Packer Palace... why would I care when you come in after the fact to brag about it... I'll take analyst and former WR Chris Carter's take on the game, "switch the QB's around and the Pack would have did worse".  BK

...of course i was rooting for Favre and the Vikings! where have you been, BK? i've made that fact well known. as far as what Carter said about switching the QBs and the Pack would've still lost....i don't deal in "what if" scenarios. it's the facts. Brett is playing for the Vikings - not the Packers. Carter should know better. try this: what if the Packers O-line was playing A+ and the team was operating on all its cylinders? what if?

I've read it a lot on different message boards today - and it's so true - Aaron Rodgers would have kicked our ass if he was playing for the Queenies Sunday. It's not one guy. Brent would be having a crappy year if he was playing for us - and we'd be losing the same games we are now. Your QB is important, no doubt - but that's not where most of our problem lies. Although ARod needs to start throwing the damn ball away!!!

Jesse, its shockingly amazing that you just don't get it. Obviously you're one of those 20 something year olds that can't seem to grasp that no player at no time is bigger then the team. We all understand you grew up seeing Brett as a god but there was a Packer team representing the good folks of WI for 72 years before Brett and there will be a Packer team representing us long after we're gone. TT and Brett both have egos so big they couldn't fit in the room together, and in this case the wrong man "won". Its sad to see, and many die-hard Viking fans (obviously not you) can barely tolerate seeing Favre in purple themselves....but they'll deal with it if they're winning. The only "dumbest person in the world" is you. If an older woman bakes you some cookies tomorrow are you going to start calling her "mom"?

I just found this site...LOVE IT!!! I am one of many ohio packer backers...we love the pack and "THE BEARS STILL SUCK!", tough loss sunday, hated it, hate all of it. thanks for this site though, very cool!

Now just a comment about the interview with "brent" at the end of the packers-vikings game....he felt "hurt", "sad" that he was treated that way, with the years he had there, and the memories he brought to this town. well, "boo -freakin'-hoo"...how does it feel to have your feelings stepped on??!! how do you think all of green bay fans felt when you "had to play" football?ok, the jets i could kinda deal but then with the **&*^^& viqueens...all because your mad!! all his fans supported him all those years, we all paid money to see him play, in good and in bad times...and then he picks the purple and gold....he makes me sick!! i will say the players take it better than myself and my daughter, but i guess to them, its a business, but for us, it hurts,you don't play for a rival team, you just don't do it!! just plain hurts, but hey, he was "feeling sad" that they booed him, WHATEVER!!! ok, i am done now, not very good at all this but i had to say something, thanks for letting me. GO PACK!!

Hey Joe from Ohio (you're not "Joe the Plumber" from OH are you, btw? -

The Purple whore (that's what I've termed him now) is playing the 'victim-card' to the hilt. I've lost all respect for him. Yesterday's game was the first game at Lambeau Field in 30-some years that Bob Harlan did not attend (he stated quite succinctly in the JS why he wouldn't be there). I hope these "hollow victories" that the traitor is whoring himself out for will sate his addict-psyche long after his physical specimen finally gives out. As Troy Acheman put it at the end of the game yesterday, "It's clear to me that Brett Favre never really wanted to keep playing for the Packers".

That's the single truth in all of this. Someday the media (national and local) will have the guts to reveal it. [and Roger Goodell, Mr. "turn and look the other way on COLLUSION" in the name of making more CA$H off of one of the biggest cash-cows in the league for the last two decades, can kiss my Polish ass...]

I hope that now the Pack is done with playing the Vikings this year, we can get back to normal and focus on the only team that matters: The Green Bay Packers. Things aren't perfect this year, but it's still the Packers. We love them when they are great, and we love them when they aren't so great. Former players? Psh, off of our radar. Go Pack Go.

I am still pissed at Brett for going to the Queens.... but my hate towards Thompson & McCarthy has grown by leaps & bounds over the season! I will ALWAYS be a Packer fan... but my god it tough right now. When they showed TT in his box all alone... it was HIM that I wanted the sniper to put in his crosshairs... not Brett.

Glad to hear Aikman say what I've thought all the long. No one is looking into the notion that Favre did not want to play in GB. I think it was both Favre's and his agent's intent all the long. Why else was Favre talking to the Viqueens that summer. The shock factor came when apparently Bus Cook didn't realize that TT could stipulate where Favre would end up or could not be traded to a divisional rival without giving up something in return.

The truth will come out one day and it will explain a lot of things. It will not be favorable to Favre or Deanna, I will bet on that!

I for one believe it is a long season. A lot can happen, MN will lose more games and it could be against divisional teams. If not, I still believe MN will CHOKE when it matters. That will be the icing on the cake for this GB Packer fan.

They have not played anyone except a mediochre Pittsburgh Steeler and Raven team. Even this game could have been won by the Packers at the end of the 3rd quarter. Special teams and penalties gave the game away.

On a lighter, happier note ... the BEST way to cook Johnsonville brats is to immerse them in a hottub of "beer, butter 'n onions" first. Then grill them to a nice crispy outer skin. Serve with mustard (preferably horseradish-mustard) and kraut. It doesn't get any better than that. I forgoe the bun when I'm at home, and just slice 'em into quarter-size pieces for dipping. Juicy, flavorful, char-grilled goodness. Pardon my indelicate-ness here, but Fu_k Minnehaha and the purple whore... God Bless the Green Bay Packers!! Goodness and Rightness shall prevail!

Good morning BeerKid, Would someone please tell me that Coach "Yes Man" still has control of this team? His play calling in the first half (when it counted) was horrendous as was the play of #12... The unnecessary penalties (i.e. Johnny Jolly's helmet butt) are just plain STUPID miscues and he should have been benched. We needed this one and the team let us down. Once again Capers held back the wrath that should have been unleashed with the "D" and our special teams coach ought to be run out of town, along with McCarthy and the "Village Idiot."

When they showed "Theodore" on T.V. during the game, how many of you flipped off the screen, yelled profanity or tossed a beer bottle at the set?? I did all of the above, except tossing a beer bottle at our T.V. (The wife would have grounded me from "Hooters", cut me off from doing the "nasty" or something far worse had I launched a cold and frosty at the set).

Would someone also ask "Theodore" why we are STILL the youngest team in the NFL? The good news is we face the Buccaneers on Sunday for what was once known years ago as the " Bay of Pigs " match up. Let's hope it doesn't fast become that type of a game. GO PACK GO!

Hey kungfu, like any team, there are always bandwagoners who will jump on and jump off at a moments notice... most are just looking for a reason to drink on game-days... instead of standing by their team through thick and thin, wins and losses.  BK

Penalties!!!! Wow we killed our selves several times what should have been 4th down turned into 1st and 10 and Viqueen scores. Rodgers needs to get rid of the ball a little sooner and stop looking for the homerun ball every time. Just take the underneath stuff and move the chains. I have a feeling that we will play them again. I don't see too many dominate teams in the NFC this year other than New Orleans, Falcons and the Viqueens. We just need to take care of business the rest of the year and be prepared for them in the post season.... It makes me laugh when I think about the Viqueens. Over the years they have sprinkled their team with Good Packer players in hopes to make their teams competitive: Sharper, Longwell, and now they get one of the greatest Packers of all time in Favre. It's funny it takes a Packer to make the Viqueens successful. GO PACK!!

That loss hurt me more than the NFC Championship from the 07 season. The coach needs to discipline this team for the penalties and then take Johnny Jolly aside and kick his fat ass for that bullshit penalty he had in the first qtr. With some therapy I think I will make it but this one hurts really bad....... really bad. Part of me knows that the pack (for most part) is still young and the team that TT put together just needs time, HE (TT) looks like such a f-ing prick that I want to choke the egomaniac! I going to go meditate now as I must find a healthy place for my soul.

You guys are an absolute joke. I know you won't post this BK but you know you are. This is why I love Brett and why you all should too. I am a Viking now but I would like nothing more than to have Brett still be a Packer. It hurts me. But what hurts me most is listening to the dumbest people in the world (packer fans) talk about why they lost or why Brett sucks. Can't you guys understand that he is the only reason that there is still a team in GB. He stuck it to you losers again. At 40. Screw TT and MM and Murphy. They didn't just screw me they screwed us all. Like I said, I would and all my friend would love for Brett to still be a Packer but it is what it is. Go Favre and go Vikes!

What's up Al Davis ( of packernet.com). Why is the website shut down. The Packers lost a tough game against a bitter rival, but they played very well in the second half. Please bring back the website, it was a great forum regardless of how the fans showed their support of the team. I know a lot of people (including myself) disagreed with a lot of what you posted, but isn't that what a forum is for, back and forth debate. Please bring it back! Thanks,

Even the Fox crew recognized we have a C - KO returner, while the other guys had an all-star. Our first half play calling sucked. TT is 4Sh#t, while #4 for them had a good game. Our O-line sucked (again), and our running game was in the toilet. ARodg did the best he could with what he had. Our DBs are generally great, but only average today. Run defense was pretty good (but theirs was better). Only chance to kick their ass this year - NFC Title game (admittedly a very LONG wild card shot).

It's clear that the Packers TEAM is not at the level that the 'queens TEAM is. I'm very disappointed in this loss. I have to say I'm a bit perplexed that the Packers' receiving corps did not do a better job today against possibly the weakest link on the 'queens team - their secondary (especially w/ Winfield out). ??? It just seemed as if Rodgers did not have enough hands to get the football to.

Look, I know we're all bummed out about this (except for perhaps the #4 groupies who were "ambivalent"), but there's still a ton of football left to be played. Regardless of what transpired out there on that field today, this season is far from over. Keep the faith, fellow GREEN BAY PACKERS fans.... Cheers!

It's nearly time....for all Favre has done for the franchise, despite the fact that he's been the face of Packers football for a generation, it's time for the Pack to show him that he's made a mistake and to feed him mass quantities of Lambeau turf.... while of course pounding the rest of those purple abominations senseless.....

Hey, BK. Just thought I would send you some links to some photoshop I worked on. Not quite to your level yet, but I am working on it. I also would like to share you my top 4 ways to welcome Brent Favre back to Lambeau.

#1. First thing we need to do is let him know that we have decided that his number will be retired when HE retires, not anytime sooner. So we give the number to the punter to let him know that we are serious about it. No more ignoring the number when it comes time to hand out numbers to rookies and such. Hell we could even give it to the water boy.

#2. On every washroom in Lambeau field put a picture of Aaron Rodgers on the Men's room door and on the Women's room door put a picture of Brent in the ugly purple dress. This would also send a message to the man. Plus it just makes me laugh thinking about it. Really that shit is funny. Just look at it. I think I will send this off to Lambeau and see if they get it done.

#3. Just to take the last one a few steps forward, lets put Brent's picture crying at his presser when he retired, the first time, on all the toilet paper in the joint. Sell it at the Pro Shop. Since 90 percent of all the toilet paper in America is made in the Green Bay area this one should not be that hard. We could also put the number 4 on all the toilet seats so when you sit you are sitting on his number. Good idea Chris. THANK YOU.

#4. Okay this one is the best one I had. FIRE TED THOMPSON. Fire him today, tomorrow, or hell fire him yesterday. He has got to go. I am so sick and tired of his management. We have no o line to protect A Rod. He spends most of the game on his ass. He will not sign free agents, wait, I take that one back. He signed Ahman Green. AHMAN GREEN? Wasn't he the one that sent him packing saying he could not play anymore? I love Green. I am forever grateful for his years with the Pack but man, shake your head Ted. YOU SUCK. The minute you are gone is the minute this glorious franchise gets back on the right track. I hate Ted Thompson. I do.
