Spew Off Speak Out...
Today, football officials at Minnesota Vikings headquarters have just announced that "just like previous years, the Vikings are just a Quarterback away from making the Super Bowl."In other news.... you do the math on the Vikings season - 10 Pro Bowl Players + no Super Bowl Appearance = EPIC FAIL! BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! ___________________________________ PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!!! PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!! LOOK LIKE A FOOL WITH YOUR PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!! LOOK AT BUTT FARVE WITH HIS PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!!! (turn hat) Long Live the Pack!!! ___________________________________ CNN is reporting that On Jan 25th the day after the NFC Championship game, that Deanna Favre made Brett 5 different turnovers for breakfast!! Halverson ___________________________________ Brett as QB for the Mudducks made my heart BOIL all year with emotions. When he limped off and took a cart for wrapping, I was like OH WOW. But, he came back, like he always has, He IS the Machine we all knew. I am soooo glad the Mudducks ended their run. Just weird Brett even went there? Somebody make sense of all that for me. and I love Brett, not a Hater like some, but So ticked he went to "that place". Read on his WEB he flew home today. The Mudducks get to enoy the "waffling" for the year if he is coming back. Woah. The world hasn't been right...but its OK now. Lemondrop ___________________________________ 49 years of NFL + no Championships + FHOFer QB + FHOFer classic choke = no Championships JBlood24 ___________________________________ Some1 please tell me it isnt true about the rumblings about a actual Farve movie , i honestly dont think that i will be able to watch a film that if made would inevitably make our beloved green and gold out to be the ones who forced brent's retirement... i wonder if they got the director from Twilight to really nail brent's dramaqueen type attitude. Pack 4 Life Dan ___________________________________ If you want a good chuckle, go to this vikings board www.nfcnorth.com, and read some of the threads there on the loss. 99% of the "fans" there are blaming the refs for the loss. Claiming "the fix was in" for New Orleans to win the game (because we all know there is a "conspiracy" against the Vikings around the league). LMAO Yeah, right. These are the exact same fans that always claimed the refs "protected" Brett when he was a Packer and every time the Packers beat the queens it was *always* because of bad calls by the refs. They're also bitching and whining that the Saints played "dirty" and took a gazillion cheap shots at Favre, trying to injure him. Which again, the refs did nothing about, because they wanted New Orleans to be in the Superbowl. Vikingfan: a whiny, blame everything and everyone except poor play by the team, sorry excuse for a "fan". #66 Chica ___________________________________ Look how many times the name brett favre appears on this thing. OMG!!!! BK ___________________________________ Of course, the interception was no big surprise and is Favre's fault entirely. The 12th man in the huddle is partly to blame on Lord Favre, also. Watch A-Rod--he stands away from the huddle, counts the players, and then enters the huddle. Favre is a veteran who makes rookie mistakes at crucial times. Favre was very tough against the Saints and took a beating but did anyone else notice how much more pronounced his limp became after the game? Corky DeYulio of Geneva, NY Packer Backers ___________________________________ Hey, I was just wondering, now that the queens have lost in the most glorious fashion and at the hand of Brent Favre no less. Do you think Brent thinks that team was the 'best he has ever played with.'? Since, you know, the team he played with back in 1995-96 WON A FU#KING SUPER BOWL, and, ahem, this queen team didn't. Good luck queens with the retiring drama for the next 6 months. God bless Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers. Hamilton aka Sign Boy ___________________________________ I wonder which team Favre fans will jump to now that brent has choked again in the playoffs, who knows Tampa's fan base seems to be on at a low point, Pack 4 life Dan ___________________________________ Brent, err ah, Brett, Thank you soooo much for the 2nd pick you threw in the game against the Saints! Scott of Chippewa Falls ___________________________________ Says it all! http://packerdog.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=67311021 GO AWAY BRETT! ___________________________________ I agree with Ray. Favre should apologize to Ted Thompson. gbwbill ___________________________________ ray, I don't know what you tried to post here that was deleted, but I just wanted to say that the "I used to like green" quote from that QueenFavre commercial really torqued me off too. Yeah, I know it was meant to be "cute", and I know it's only television (advertising, at that), but something about him "making fun of" the Packers just strikes me as, well... not funny. It's just rubbing salt in the wound for all of the Packer faithful who believed in him, supported him, and put up with/forgave him for his 'youthful transgressions' (vicodin, pal-ing around with Chewey, partying, etc.). The Green Bay Packers and their fans were better to (and FOR) Brett Favre than ANY other NFL franchise ever could have been. And by all of his actions (and words) over the past two years, it's clear that not only does he not appreciate that, but he just doesn't even get it. He sickens me. Frankly, I am torn between wanting him to get the hell out of the league for good, and wanting him to remain in Minny and play for umpteen more years. The latter might *almost* be worth having to put up with more of the insulting bullshit from him, in order to continue to be able to enjoy watching him sink the team. After all, he's only getting older. While our boy Aaron is only getting BETTER. I'm up for another 2 "FavreBowls" next year, the more I think about it. Because I think we'll win at least one of them. And it sure would be sweet in either venue - the Dump, or Lambeau. At least he's Minny's problem now. He claims he's not going to keep the team waiting very long for his "decision." Yeah. Right. Like *anything* that comes out of his mouth anymore can be taken seriously. I hope he does string 'em along. Right up til late August would be perfect. Chica p.s. - Don't hold your breath on that "public apology". Such a thing requires an awareness that one did something wrong in the first place. And secondly, it requires class and grace. None of which the Traitor possesses. ___________________________________ |

51 Days...
A bartender in Wisconsin is sitting behind the bar on a typical day, when the door bursts open and in come four exuberant Viking fans. They come up to the bar, order five bottles of champagne and ten glasses, take their order over and sit down at a large table. The corks are popped, the glasses are filled and they begin toasting and chanting, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Soon, three more Viking fans arrive, take up their drinks and the chanting grows."51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Two more Viking fans show up and soon their voices are joined in raising the roof. "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Finally, the tenth Viking fan comes in with a picture under his arm. He walks over to the table, sets the picture in the middle and the table erupts. Up jumps the others, they begin dancing around the table, exchanging high-fives, all the while chanting "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" The bartender can't contain his curiosity any longer, so he walks over to the table. There in the center is a beautifully framed children's puzzle of Ragnar, the Vikings Mascot. When the frenzy dies down a little bit, the bartender asks one of the Viking fans, "What's all the chanting and celebration about?" The fan who brought in the picture pipes in, "'Cuz we've never won a SuperBowl, everyone thinks that Viking fans are dumb-asses and they make fun of us. So, we decided to set the record straight. Ten of us got together, bought that puzzle and put it together. **** This is an encore post from February 2006 **** |

Speak Out Spew Off...
It's Sunday, hours before the New York Jets@Indianpolis Colts on CBS and the later Minnesota Vikings@New Orleans Saints game on FOX... and man o man, let me say, my least favorite teams in the NFL, just happen to be 2 of the 4 teams left, yes, the Vikings and the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. Oh duh Chicago Bears fit in there somewhere too, but a New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl would be... well, I'm not sure I'd watch that game. Former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets and now current Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre or no Brett Favre. So.... here's hoisting a cold one to a New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl. Go Saints! (ah gawd, what's that after-taste in my mouth) Go Packer Pro Bowl Players!!! (that's better) Update: Vikings lose in OT, 28-31 to the Saints, and with the Colts win over Jets 30-17 so we're going to have a New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts for Super Bowl XLIV. In the NFC Championship game, Viking QB Bret Favre looked pretty good in a hard fought game against the blitzing Saints defense, taking a tremendous beating all game long, but still standing at the end, and all those fumbles aside, we get the classic "Jay Cutler INT throw" (sorry Jay, but if you're going to have 17 of your 26 INTS be of that type of weak throw across the field, it's eventually going to be named after you) anyway, then the classic INT that all of us Packers fans have so fond memories of by Bret Favre, compiling a mistake on top of the previous play's mistake and the Vikings last chance to win was gone. Saints take all day to drive a handful of yards and kick a 40yd FG to win. Even with that finish, I'm still not in favor of changing the OT rules.... fair or not fair as it may seem to the Vikings SB chances. In the AFC Championship game some QB who was 2nd in the NFL in most INT's lost to the QB who's been around forever. No one but J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets fans were surprised. Hey, I got the Super Bowl I wanted, umm, forced to endure out of the remaining 4 teams that the NFL had left. I finally get the correct prognosticatin' vibe and I didn't put any money down. Damn.... BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! ___________________________________There is joy in mudville. Mighty Favre intercepted out! Keg Man ___________________________________ So do ya suppose Prince'll be composing another song? Cyg Hey Cyg, heh heheh eh... I thought you said "composting" heh heheh heh, eh. BK ___________________________________ yeah, sorry if i actually became so rage consumed by Brett's pre game commercial with the "ah use to like green" quote, set against a backdrop of this years team having been the best he ever played on that I contributed a line of bile so strong that it actually had to be edited on a board that will let you write nearly anything. I suppose I need to get a life. And to throw the mirror of hypocrisy back on myself, I will be one of the cretins welcoming him back, when he does come back. Brett for the 1000 th time played bravely yesterday. The highest compliment I can give him as a 53 yo man is he has impossibly moved alongside Bart and Ray as my favorite Packers ever. But whenever I see him jumping up and down celebrating Packer defeat at Lambeau some primordial beast comes out of me. My wish is that Packer fans take a much more balanced view of the job TT has done, worthy, if not of praise, then of one hell of a lot more patience than Packer fans have showed him. What was it he said when he had to sign Brett's release? Even if Aaron wins 3 times here, it is unlikely I will ever love him more than Brett. But Brett as a Viking clearly brings out something very ugly in me. So, Sorry. Forever grateful for your miraculous board, and the lovely Packer girls who would make such cool cheerleaders in my bong world. So lucky to have Aaron. Thank you Ted Thompson. God speed and continued clear vision to you, may your blinders always be securely on. I still will always hold that Brett owes him a very public apology, and after all the bile spewed about TT, I don't particularly care what others perception is, God knows you have already been heard all too loud and clear. ray ___________________________________ BK, any word on A-Rod's retirement decision...oh that's right! Head to the dailynorseman.com for some real entertainment: not sure if it is funny or surreal...oddly feels like the end of the 2007 campaign for our dear Green and Gold...Favre throws an ill advised pass late in the game, everyone wonders if he'll retire. Actually the comparison stops there as the Sage/Tavarious options at QB post-Favre retirement make the Vikings laughable. As painful as it's been the last couple of weeks, I am hoping Favre comes back for another year, the drama he brings is priceless and our boys deserve another shot at that purple clad geriatric QB. Herm ___________________________________ Well the Football gods have smiled on Packer Fans once more. He Who Must Not Be Named has been punished for his hubris and trechery, in a most compelling fashion. The garbage time TD pass in the cow-girls game sealed his fate. Now let's hope he rides off into a purple sunset never to be seen again..I must say though I'll miss the shots of his oldest daughter in the stands, she's kinda hot. Joe Francis___________________________________ How about this... Vikings Suck Too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPBYIhGcNMc Pack Fan In Dixie ___________________________________ As I stated, "Shades of 2007 happening to the Vikes!!! Could it be...I just sense this happening. With the Bandwagon Fans starting to "Hope" in Favre, I believe he will rip their hearts out with some audibles that fail miserably." It may not have been an audible, but another across the field STUPID throw when the game was almost won - if he would have ran 5 more yards and let the kicker shortwell TCB. 14,000,000 for that!!!! Way to help the consistency of Choking in MN. I may just have to wear my Brent Farve GB jersey today to remind them in MN which team did achieve the SuperBowl. Nahhhh....I will flush it!!!! Go Pack and can't wait to see Rodgers in the Pro Bowl!!!! Kev Pack in MN ___________________________________ Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. (Albert Einstein) Well, like the chance of snow in the frozen tundra - the Queens have yet AGAIN managed to pull it off. Have to admitt, the vikes have got the chok'n down to perfection. I don't think you can make that sh*t up. On another note, I'm glad we all had those years watch Farve and the Pack play at such a competitive level. Good times - but looking forward. Now it seems Farve's just playing to go out on top... and it's interesting that his drama-ish personality now seems to fit the vi-queers image so damn well... The pack went out this last season HOT and exactly when they should have been ... which makes looking forward to next year even better. GO PACK!!!!!!! Pants on the Ground ___________________________________ First it was 'Pants on the ground' then it was Prince's Fight Song but once again, the old Brent Fart favourite ' Oops, I did it again' was the song which shone through.... Bobby___________________________________ How bout dem Chokekings!!! Chokekings Agin!! ___________________________________ Oh My God. Take that and stick it in your pipe Vikes fans and Brent! Priceless! foundinidaho ___________________________________ Well, well, well. I'll even go "third person" for this rare occasion. First of all, Ruppert says "when you sign a dick to be your quarterback, he will screw you." It basically doesn't matter what happens during the 16 regular season games. What matters to Ruppert is the playoffs. And once again, Butt Fart managed to piss away a chance at a Super Bowl with another totally stupid INT in OT. It's hard to fathom, actually, how a guy could make yet another totally asinine decision when a trip to the Super Bowl was on the line. And in true Favre fashion, the latest indiscretion is probably the most heinous. None of us Packers fans could possibly believe that he could f*ck up worse than he did against the Giants...but he did. Sure, the Drag Queens fans can point to every other dumb play that their purple-clad warriors made during the game, and say how "this isn't Favre's fault." But they are all dumb. And wrong. As usual. The Brett Favre era in Minnesota turned out to be yet another painful, horrible chapter in the choking history of a pathetic, horrible football franchise. GO PACKERS, NOW AND FOREVER!!!!! Ruppert ___________________________________ Hey BeerKid & BeerScout this emergency message was just broadcast on the minneapolis television stations:
Boz ___________________________________ Let the Diva's annual post-season retirement soap opera begin!! "Who Dat"?! Why, dat's the new post-season record-holder for interceptions. This was simply another in a long, long line of Viking futility. Call it VINTAGE Chokings. Despite the Aints doing their damndest to give the game to them... despite the refs doing the same.... despite Roger Goodell's burning desire to have a Manning-Favre Superbowl... Once again, the Vikqueens CHOKED it all away. Do we need to put vikingfan on suicide watch? Thank the football gods that packerfan's long, interminable, excruciating nightmare is over. The "all-in" gamble by Zygi Wolf didn't pay off. The river card wasn't there. Sleep well tonight, Packer Nation. We've got Aaron Rodgers for the next decade. #66 Chica ___________________________________ Wow....did THAT look familiar..... A dumb Favre INT leads to his team losing an NFC Championship Game by a field goal in overtime; different jersey, same result. Face it Viking fans, hell will need to freeze solid before your team ever wins a championship! (baw haw haw.....)Ray66 ___________________________________ Well, MN's sorry gamble didn't payoff acquiring Favre. I'm so happy to see the Queenies packing!!! Pun intended!!! Chris in DFW ___________________________________ 2 years ago I'm watching the NFC championship game with my 9 year-old son and we see a cold and apathetic Brett Favre throw an interception in OT and lose the game, my son was heart-broken, as was I, we couldn't believe that Breet could throw that pick and head for the heater like it didn't matter. On behalf of my, now 11 year-old son, I'd like to thank Brett Favre, when his last pass of the season, for Minnesota in the NFC championship game, was an interception my son cheered as though the Packers were still in it. Thanks Brett for playing like Brett. SCHRADES Hey Schrades, wow, yeah, BF losing today like this, the INT on his last throw does fall under the repetitive "football history repeats itself" category. Bwa haha ha hahahahaha ha ha ha!! HA! BK ___________________________________ Tick .... Tock... Tick... Tock.... AAHHHWOOOOGAAAAAA!!!!! DING DONG!!!! AHHHHWOOOOGAAAAAA!!!!! DING DONG!!! The Purple Time Bomb has BLOWN!!!!!! How dare you doubt me!? JONNY C Hey Jonny C... It's a Party ! Like it's 1999. Back when Prince had a song or three worth listening to and the Vikings hadn't won anything yet. Oh wait that last part still true 10 years later and the judge is out on whether Prince is being impersonated on that latest gift to the sports world - that's a joke, a bad one, like his highness' last song. BK ___________________________________ I hope someone has the presence of mind years from now to replay this new commercial where Brett is heard to say "Ah used to like green." At the moment when an element of we Packer Backers will be knocking themselves over to "welcome him home." As much as he lead me out of 29 years in the football wilderness it is not just a commercial to me, it is Brett pissing on Curly Lambeau, Don Hutson, Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke, well you know the roll call. You broke my heart asshole. I will never forget. Unlike the Vikings the Packers are not an occasional diversion, and its legend you are clearly unworthy of. Be very grateful the talons of the Chicago mob do not extend to Green Bay, generally speaking, or that restaurant would have been in flames long ago. I hope residents think twice about giving it business, but I am sure they don't. May football justice be brought down upon your traitorous head today, although I have a near certainty it won't, as evil is celebrated in all its forms here in 2010. I still hold the day will come when you will regret your treachery. I want to hear more... (edited: come on dude, that's really harsh) O to hear your bones snap but Nitschke, Deacon Jones and Dick Butkus are no longer around, let alone Joey Batters aka Big Tuna aka Tony Accardo. A pox of a nightmarish tone be upon you. It ain't so much a problem with your wanting to continue to play ball as the deception as to what actually went down at Green Bay, where it is taken as fact that the Packers didn't want him anymore, end and beginning of story. And whatever else is perceived of Ted Thompson, usually wildly incorrectly by the tea party element of Packer fans who feel the need to express their opinions in block letters, facts be damned, lacking the intelligence for their words to speak for themselves, he is completely without guilt in the Favre affair, though he manfully has taken part of the blame, when as far as what is known publicly, he is guilty of jackshit. If justice were served, and it so rarely is, it is us who gave u birth, and by rights us who should take u down, it just makes me sick to know how passionately your ass will be kissed once time has passed. Speak up of your own guilt right now asshole, much as you did during your retirement speech, or know that there is an element, albeit a small one, of Packer fans who will never forgive u. You filthy prick. ray___________________________________ ...and yeh, i think Prince's song is below par. who said i can't be objective?? jeff ircink ___________________________________ AHHHHAAA I can see it now another Missing Rings edition of America's Game, The 2009 Minnesota ViQueens. He obviously had an off-week....at first I thought I was listening to a church hymnal, which is fine in and of itself, but a fight-song for a team entering an NFC championship game?? This song will NOT stir the masses...I thought I'd never say this, but bring back 'Pants on the Ground'! Ha ha Btw Beerkid, have to say I love the Ditka crawfish....creepy, but funny! Can't wait til August...such a long time off. What ever will I do until preseason comes around? Help! Lady K Hey Lady K, yeah the Crawdaddy Ditka image was an old favorite.... BK ___________________________________ Officialy burning my Purple Rain CD. Dear Lord, Prince, you've lost it. (Even though I totally get you're a fan). foundinidaho ___________________________________ I am not understanding Packer fans that want the Vikes to lose to the Saints??? Me? I am Favre fan, not a blind one, because I was tired of his crap and Rodgers is better at this point than Favre was. The Vikes just have more talent then Pack at this point. If your a Favre hater it seems that a Super Bowl loss would be a more bitter pill to swallow than a NFC Championship loss. It would be rougher for Minnesota and its fans to get to Miami and the Big Dance and lose to the Jets (would be classic) or the Colts. I am still not over our Denver loss... Juan in 'Bama' ___________________________________ here's a suggestion: do the opposite of what you would normally do. root for Favre to beat the Saints and maybe the Saints will win. i mean, the anti-Favre contingent rooted against Favre in the Dallas game and that didn't work... as i don't make predictions, i'm just hoping Sunday's NFC Championship is a good game. and to whoever was screaming about that last TD pass to Shiancoe in the Dallas game, that play wasn't called by Favre. nice try. course then you'll say Favre audibled that call, so he's damned regardless. someone explain to me why Dallas called all three of their timeouts with 6:30 left on the clock if they thought they were beat? i mean, why extend the game longer than it should be if the game was out of reach???jeff ircink ___________________________________ Shut up jeff. Admittedly I'm not fond of Jerry Jones and his team but what Favre pulled was pretty classless. When you're up by 24 points and you have the ball deep in your opponent's territory with 2 minutes to go you keep the ball on the ground and run the clock down. Instead he tosses a TD pass to rub the 'Boy's faces in it and/or set his personal post season "TD's in one game mark" record. In any case it was pretty cheap of him and I hope it motivates the Saints "D" to kick his ass all over the Viking end of the field. Anyway, I digress... on tonight's broadcast (before I switched the channel and threw up in my mouth a little) they played a clip of Brent saying that "people forget that I was in the Super Bowl." Sunday's Playoff Recap: The Dallas Cowboys looked like their cheerleaders, or better yet, like their counterparts the Dallas Desire in the Lingerie Football League and that style of play on the field, and with predictable results against a high-powered team on it's home turf, the Minnesota Vikings put a bitch-slapping down on Cowboys, in a game that was close right up until when with barely 2 minutes left in the evenly-matched close game, a moment so crucial it required the almighty BF to throw another 4th quarter TD on 4th down in the closing moments to ensure that the Vikings would squeak out a win at 34-3. With pantsdowning congratulations, the ever-prideful of their play Vikings are off to New Orleans as a result and geez, after watching the Cowgirls play like that, makes you wonder how the Packers would have faired in that game. Some other team beat some other team in light rain... oh wait, that would be New York Jets playing the mediocrity card right up until the bitter end, but heh, what can you say, actually not much, because they won in San Diego 17-14 and give themselves, as the only wild-card entry left in the playoffs, the compelling Cinderella story to match the Overbearing story sure to come on Peyton Manning and the Colts and just how smart it was to rest those key players down the stretch during those last few games. Eeeks! A prediction I didn't want to be right on. BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life! |

Speak Out Spew Off...
To recap Saturday's games.... Thanks to the 1 big bottle of Chimay Triple, 1 big bottle of Stone IPA, and then the 6-pack of Stone Ruination Ale which capped off the game-day activities at Packer Palace for BeerScout and myself. Actually the pro that he is, BeerScout went out looking for more...The Arizona Cardinals get their butts kicked big time by the New Orleans Saints, who win at home 45-14 and will be expecting the winner of the Dallas Cowboys - Minnesota Vikings matchup. Geez.... Make you wonder what the Packers would have done in New Orleans. Indianapolis Colts put a beat-down on the Baltimore Ravens, 20-3, and will be hosting the winner of the New York Jets - San Diego Chargers game next Sunday Reminder that the Packers have 4 players involved with the Pro Bowl the week before the Super Bowl game. Alternate rookie OLB Clay Matthews was added recently to the festivities in Miami, to go along with original selections QB Aaron Rodgers, CB & Defensive Player of the Year Charles Woodson, and S Nick Collins. More to come? BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life!_________________________________ Tick... TOCK... Tick... TOCK... The purple timebomb is ticking! BK _________________________________ It is so funny to hear from the BANDWAGON Vikes fans. This is the same team that has failed miserably in the playoffs for years. Is Favre the answer? Do they really think this? He is better then what they had. Maybe this year the Vikes will not have a QB with a 45 rating like TJack last year. I've lived in MN for almost a decade and cannot tell you how many of these fans have taped the games for years or found something better to do then be disappointed. For some reason these same Vike fans think they have already won the Super bowl knowing this feeling will be their downfall in the end. Do not count your chickens before they hatch? Favre is 0-3 in the postseason vs. Dallas. If not Dallas beating the Vikes it will be 1999 all over again with AZ/NO putting their lights out. It may be the Jets... would that not be poetic justice? Lately, being only 5 days after the Packer Loss it is quite embarrassing to hear from these bandwagon fans who have not won anything in the postseason yet, but believe they need to get their final say in since our "Championship level Pack team" were one play or stop from playing next week. Did Arizona not play in the Super Bowl last year? The other side of the coin is for the team that Favre left behind? Both the Pack and Jets are still playing at a high level with or without Favre. How is this possible? Pack fans we are so close to being the Division leader again and this is what excites me for the next decade. I believe the Vikes are afraid of what will happen... as always does and they fall well short of the Super Bowl goal. Once their loss happens this year... will the Vikes fire Childress, bring back Denni Greene or Mice Tice, because in MN it is always the coaches fault. Yet, we know, in the end, it is the pathetic Band Wagon fans that cannot sell tickets to their games without bringing in a circus. Where will the Vikes be playing next? I know my seat in Lambeau is their for my lifetime and my sons though so many else would want to be there. These are real fans, Pack fans, do not forget this... :0) Kev Pack in MN _________________________________ "There is someting in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat" So Sayeth Lombardi. With The 23rd Pick In The 2010 Draft...
![]() ...The Packers Select:The Packers have prematurely put themselves into the 2010 NFL Draft ordering process along with 3 other teams. The Packers are going to pick 23rd overall, according Greg Rosenthal over at PFT - 4 More Draft Slots Are Set - and that should put the Packers into.... where, exactly? Yeah, I don't know either.... GM Ted Thompson must be considering an OT for the offensive line as somewhat of a priority this year, and he knows they could use some DB help in the defensive secondary too... and a DL, a RB, a Punter, another DB or two... I'm sure there's a mock draft out there somewhere that will explain it to me. A big question is what the Packers do with S Nick Collins, he's a priority, but he's destined for being "tagged" and Safety is a cheap (by comparison to other positions) as a franchise tag as a GM can get. So expect Ted Thompson to use it on Nick Collins. Now, to me this is the biggest question, what to do with DE/OLB Aaron Kampman. The Packers missed his presence down the stretch, and as much as I like the play of rookie OLB's Brad Jones and Clay Matthews, their inexperience limited the Packers defensive playcalling was reduced to just pretty much allowing them to speed rush the corners. Aaron Kampman is needed to anchor one of the End's on pass-rushing plays with Clay Matthews destined for the other side. Remember when the Pack paid KGB a ton of money to be a specialist. Kampman is better at it, and there's a role for him on this team. Something else to consider, the rules for 2010 if it becomes an uncapped year, get a little more confusing, each team will have one franchise tag and one transition tag or two transition tags to limit the options of unrestricted free agents. Players will need 6 years of service to become unrestricted free agents. The final 8 playoff teams have restrictions placed upon them for signing free agents. Go Pack! BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |

October In 1935 Milwaukee...
![]() 1935 Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Cardinals in Milwaukee. Here's a cool picture (not sure where it's from, had it saved for a while) from 1935 featuring the Green Bay Packers playing the Chicago Cardinals. Well, it's cool because according to Packers Uniforms this was the first year the Packers broke away from wearing the Blue N Gold and went to the color scheme of green. The experiment lasted two years as the Packers went back to the Curly Lambeau Classic Blue N Gold uniforms. The other interesting tidbit about this picture, besides the Cardinals in Red and Light Blue, is that although the Packers finished 8-4 that year, the Cardinals beat them in Green Bay 7-6, in Milwaukee 3-0, and in Chicago 9-7. A trifecta beatdown, and although the background in the picture looks like September in Green Bay, with golden shoulders on the uniforms a mid-season change, it's likely to be the October game in Milwaukee rather than the November one in Chicago. Hey wait... that kind of sucks, losing 3 times to the Cardinals. So why mention it? It has to with lessons learned, knowledge gained, revenge satisfied. In the following 1936 season, the Packers won the NFL Championship with a 10-1-1 record, at the time their 4th over-all, and yeah, they beat the Cardinals twice, tied them (the infamous 0-0 game) on the last game of the year. So I don't know, the chance to rebound after a near-miss successful year, it's something to look forward too... I guess. It's been done many times since the Packers did it in the 1930's. While heading into the off-season, at least we fans have that much going for us. BeerKid - Always Pack 4 Life! |

Fat Lady Sings... Crushing Hopes Of Millions.
![]() There it is, the Green Bay Packers fate has now been officially determined... the over-sized woman with the over-sized lungs has sounded her cheddar flushed funeral dirge loud and clear across Cheesehead Nation. One last howl sudden death shriek of angst that sent Banshee's into hiding and left Jack Frost off running for Florida... and leaving the Packers to losing a heart-wrencher, a game they gave away early, struggled back to tie, and then using a late missed FG by Arizona to force overtime... sudden wild weirdness erupts on field and the Packers give up a sack-fluke- Fat Lady Sings... I say these young Packers are going to be good for a long long time. The defense is not quite there yet, but getting some guys back along with the development of some of the young guys is going to make our defense potent. Sure it hurts like hell to lose one like this, but it does help build the character and awareness that is needed to be great. I remember the sinking feeling after those losing trips to Dallas in the 90's, the 4th and 26 in Philly, TO at the end in SanFran, and more recently the cold and old Brett Favre tossing the INT to the Giants to keep us out of the Super Bowl. The hurt does not go away easily, but those losing games made the team stronger and more prepared for the future. He spanked us and kept us from having that Arizona game at Lambeau. You think the cold this last weekend would have allowed Warner to throw like he did. I think not!! Favre got one over on us, no matter what happens against Dallas. Always a fumble or interception away, CAMP __________________________________ Hey Beerkid, Well our "2009-2010 Green Bay PACKER Magical Mystery Tour" has come to an unfortunate and abrupt end in the desert. Not to sound like a Vi-Queen fan but when the NFL sends their "Cream of the Crop" of Officials for the playoffs, we should get just that. But the cream did not rise to the top with those "Clowns" who were doing their best impressions of Randy Moss (a.k.a. Mr. "I play when I wanna play"). Those assholes officiated when they wanted to officiate and blew obvious calls that would have favored the PACKERS and our chances of advancing. I am sure that the NFL will sweep this one under the rug (along with passing something else under the table in an effort to see a possible 39 & 40 year old match up of NFL QB's for the NFC Championship game perhaps???) I have sobered up enough now to realize that "Coach McMeathead" failed to manage the clock well at times during the game and Mason "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out" Crosby and turn-overs cost us yet another game and yet another opportunity to hoist another Lombardi Trophy. This PACKER fan can not wait for training camp to begin and I honestly feel that we will improve as a team, take the NFC North next season and with this slight taste of playoff experience only make the PACKERS hungry for more. This year's PACKERS have nothing to be ashamed of. They certainly met and exceeded my expectations going into the season. And of course the last play of the game, IT WAS CLEARLY A FACEMASK, HE HAD HIS HAND ON RODGERS MASK THE ENTIRE TIME, PULLING HIM TO THE GROUND..I feel like it's 1998 all over again and Jerry Rice didn't fumble...oh wait he did. Billy's On Burnet...
Hey Beer Kid and Beer Scout, You guys been as great as the Packers! What great wins over the cowgirls n da' bears!!! WOOOOOOOHHOOOO! Been on travel to Austin, TX the last few weeks... Found this sports bar, Billy's, and filed this "On Assignment Report" for Packer Palace Nation! I think I'm going back for a couple weeks in January. If so, I'll be there for the playoff game! Hope the following and pics are OK to post!
While on business travel last week in Austin, Texas, I checked the Packers website to find a place where I could watch the Packers beat the Bears: http://www.packers.com/fan_zone/where_to_watch_listing/ First on the list, was "Billy's on Burnet". A sports bar on Burnet street, in the heart of the Texas state capital. After doing a quick web check, I found it had some very positive reviews from Packers Fans. So, hungry and thirsty, I headed down at high noon on Sunday. The outside of Billy's was a sea of Green and Gold. All right - just like home! Inside of Billy's was "packed" with Packers Fan, and one Bear Fan. There was every kinda beer you could think of either on tap, in a bottle, or canned. (Yes, BK they do have Chimay!) The food was awesome. I had a "Billy Burger, with chili cheese fries" (I assumed it was WI Cheese). It was great. Met three first timers at Billy's. They found Billy's the same way. One was a young man recently out of the service, Chris, from Fond du Lac, WI. He's done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you for your service Chris! The Austin Packer Fans are just like all other great Packer Fans, knowledgeable, respectful, and loved to Tailgate! I even got to meet Billy - The Man. He's owned this fine establishment for the last 5 years. Keep it up Billy - You're doin' an awesome job supporting the Green Bay Packers! See ya soon!!! Boz |

Hey Beer Kid and Beer Scout!Happy New Year! While I was diggin' this week's Rockwood Lodge, and its either Beer Kid or the Alien (that's BeerScout) that asks at the end, "Where's the opener?" I think I found it! It's on the bottom of my new replacement pair of Reef Mick Fanning flip flops! May you, or anyone here at Packer Palace, never, ever be without an opener... Go Pack, Go! Boz Thanks Boz! We knew a long-time Packer Palace contributor would stand up, remove his flip-flop and say "I have a Vince Lombardi approved opener" when BeerScout requested immediate aid, as all were in dire need of liquid consumption, often in heavy amounts, and no way of continuing our awashed in foamy suds festivities of removing 99 bottles of Blitz beer from the wall. BK in the future remember that some of us sneak onto this site during working hours - horror of horrors if my supervisor had walked in and seen my monitor! Anyway, on to bigger (no pun intended) topics... How will McCarthy approach this weekend's game? By kickoff the Cards will know whether they are playing for any higher seed. I can see both sides of the "to rest or not to rest" debate, however I am of the philosophy that you play to WIN. Players can get injured by "taking it easy" out on the field as well - not paying attention, playing out of position, getting blindsighted by hits, etc. To me that's just as dangerous. The head coach sets the tone and philosophy for the team. What message does it send the players if you don't have them play all-out to win? What would Lombardi do?? Aarrghhh.... too difficult of a dilemma for me. Time to go mix a bloody mary and watch some more of the New Year's Day bowl-a-palooza. HAPPY PACKER NEW YEAR to all!!! #66 Chica _______________________________________ Who is the last team to have both present and past qbs in probowl and when did this happen? BK _______________________________________ Besides the Packer games... Jared Allen has 6 sacks in 13 games.... very AVERAGE. Looks like that motor DOES quit. Today, football officials at Minnesota Vikings headquarters have just announced that "just like previous years, the Vikings are just a Quarterback away from making the Super Bowl."
Woah.
Waking Up a Viking! (KDWB Parody Song) -
A bartender in Wisconsin is sitting behind the bar on a typical day, when the door bursts open and in come four exuberant Viking fans. They come up to the bar, order five bottles of champagne and ten glasses, take their order over and sit down at a large table. The corks are popped, the glasses are filled and they begin toasting and chanting, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!"
It's Sunday, hours before the New York Jets@Indianpolis Colts on CBS and the later Minnesota Vikings@New Orleans Saints game on FOX... and man o man, let me say, my least favorite teams in the NFL, just happen to be 2 of the 4 teams left, yes, the Vikings and the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.

evenly-matched close game, a moment so crucial it required the almighty BF to throw another 4th quarter TD on 4th down in the closing moments to ensure that the Vikings would squeak out a win at 34-3. With pantsdowning congratulations, the ever-prideful of their play Vikings are off to New Orleans as a result and geez, after watching the Cowgirls play like that, makes you wonder how the Packers would have faired in that game.
