Packers 1st Place NFC North!!! 6-1...

Packers pull out da bomb on the 1st play of overtime and win their 1st game ever in Denver, 19-13. It was almost for naught, it took some solid running from RB Ryan Grant (104 yards) who may be the toughest RB on the roster, it also took some big catches from WR's James Jones (107 yards) and Greg Jennings (141 yards), and even despite DE Aaron Kampman's huge 3 sack night, the game was almost lost right at the end of the 4th quarter. Broncos QB Jay Cutler tried to do a QB draw and not only came short of a TD, he came up short of the 1st down, on ran the FG unit's and Denver K Jason Elam made the FG as time ran out to tie the game at 13-13.

Listening to Packers QB Brett Favre talk in the post-game interviews, he mentions that he and coach Mike McCarthy debated about checking out of the play if that left WR had single coverage without support, and Brett looked off the Safety a bit, and launched a throw that went 55 yards to hit Gregg Jennings in stride for the 82 yard TD. Packers Win! Packers Win! Packers beat the Broncos 19-13 in an overtime thriller.

Sidenotes: LB Nick Barnett continues to play at pro-bowl levels, coming up with a fumble recovery while contributing with 9 tackles. S Atari Bigby had 7 tackles for the Packers defense, but his 4 penalties stand out and we'll let the coaches handle him, you need short memories sometimes, and bad games happen to players, and he's lucky the Packers escaped with a win.

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

After a thrilling victory, what else could compete? Today is the Pack's 10 for 1 Click day at Time to virtually lock up a W in the soup wars. Go Pack!

vote early and often

Vote for Brett and James Jones!

Was that a 4 I saw on the Packers QB in OT? I couldn't tell, I thought it looked more like a Superman logo. Good Call on the RB situation BeerKid.

Hey D34, in regards to RB Ryan Grant, after hearing that he took all the carries in last Wednesday's practice, you hear Chris Havel with either Harry Sydney or Johnny Gray, mention that Grant may be the toughest RB on the team, you start to consider that DeShawn Wynn seems be more tease than talent, and after all, hasn't it been pounded into our heads that TT is a genius, and he did after all trade a 6th round pick for Grant. It's one of the 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 then cut in half = 2 things. Oh, did you see the several plays where Ryan Grant just totally bowled over those guys trying to tackle him, aggressiveness, toughness, I just love RB's that play that way.

WOW!!What can you say, Favre can still throw the long ball!!! Was there any question!!What a great game and hats off to McCarthy to going for it on the first play of the overtime. I guess we continued to win the way we are supposed to. The Defense keeps us in the game and the offense scores enough points to keep us rolling along. The confidence is building and we may have found someone that can run the ball. If Ryan Grant can give us some threat of a running game we just may be a team that makes some noise!!

I think Max was with us tonight. Couldn't help but notice number 85 won the game for us!!! Thanks MAX

Live and Die with the Pack

Beer Kid - Feel Lucky to get this W!!... In your view, why does the coaching staff fail to adjust as the game changes in the second half... + 2 minutes left in the game & two running plays up the middle for a 3rd & long. Other than AK, D - wrap up the tackle!!! Happy Halloween from St. Louis.

Extreme Cheeze   GO PACK!

Hey Extreme Cheeze, didn't we see that same lack of play calling adjustments in the Bears game. It's probably a few things, centering around that coach McCarthy is limiting Favre's throws in un-ideal situations, and generally thinks he needs to get the running game going. It cost the Pack a win against Chicago, and it took a brilliant play in OT to beat Denver. One thing I do like about Mike McCarthy is that as he's learning the NFL game, he doesn't make the same mistakes over and over, unlike a few of his players. Be Pack 4 Life!

BK, Oh yeah, what a game! I think my heart stopped late in the 4th.... had a slight pulse going into OT, then of course, I was revived after Jennings' catch. Will be in recovery for the remainder of the week..... Gotta love the heart-attack Pack!!
Bring on Kansas City! Go Pack Go!!

Lady K - Packer Club of Hemet, Ca.

Great win. Grant will be our featured back for the rest of the season, and for good reason. The time if takes for him to cover ground in the backfield and hit the line of scrimmage leaves no doubt in my mind that he's our guy!!! I will say this, we could have had Cutler, and history will prove that Thompson pulled the trigger on a inferior QB with Rodgers.

HEY !! Today, October 30 is "Packers Bonus day" over on the Chunky Click For Cans Site... that means the Packers get credit for 10 clicks for every one we put in.... So let's get to work kids and push that total over 1 million today !!!

Coach Carl

Hey Coach, doesn't look like us Packers Fans have broken one million clicks yet, but the day's total got pushed up to 997 thousand votes, remember folks, each vote represents a can of soup given to a charity in the Packers name. Vote everyday!

Like ten seconds ago I said we would never get the multiplier. Now here it is... Are they reading this?

Luke in Dallas

It was great seeing "Chump Bailey" get beat with Brett's pass leading to our first score to Jones; but watching him unload on the first play from scrimmage in O.T. for the winning T.D. was an F'n thing of beauty.

Now it's onto K.C. and after that hopefully another W at home against da-queens. I'm taking the wife and kids to da-queens game. I hope it's as memorable as last nights MNF extravaganza!!

GO PACK GO to the NFC North Division Title and beyond.

PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN.

SUPER GAME!!!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK! Way to go PACK!

Happy Halloween to all! GO PACKERS!!(Was Atari Bigby tying out as a kicker?)

Big Ern said so!!!!

OMG........Was that a Game??!! Woohoo, its good to be a Packer fan when we have Brett Favre and we are 6 AND 1, Baby !! (----so many broken records, so many broken stats, and so many more to come with the Ageless Brett.) Cheers

Speak Out Spew Off...

So who's the Packers running back this week? Why it's Ryan Grant, a RB that we traded a 6th round pick to the NY Giants for. After current default starter DeShawn Wynn had neck spams during Monday's practice, Vernand Morency still having soreness in his season long injured knee, Brandon Jackson with the shin thing, the Packers have no one else to go to. Maybe current FB Korey Hall should get some reps at 1 back sets with the offense.

Koren Robinson has been practicing all week long, expected to be activated before the start of Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. See, we were just fooled by the Koren is practicing/T Orrin Thompson is waived activity from earlier this week. The open roster spot went to practice squad TE Ryan Krause, who should be active this week with a new injury to Bubba Franks, who is expected to be out for this week's coming game and perhaps, only several more games after that if the Packers are lucky.

So in regards to this weeks game at Denver, even with RB and TE troubles, I am starting to think it's not going to be that close of a game when it's all said and done, and what follows is why it's obvious that I never actually bet money on the Pack. I'm going with the Packers in some wild-ass shoot-out that will seem lopsided when it's over, helped along by a defensive score late in the game, it's the Packers 31-16 over the Denver Broncos.

So if there is a game 5 in the World Series (odds are declining with every minute) will enough Rockies fans go to their baseball game, thus allowing more Cheezheads to go to the football game? Now wouldn't that be refreshing.

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

I am so tired of seeing Justin Harrell inactive!! For all those who give TT a pass when we have no running back, I cannot go along with you. How do you have a number one pick wasted just have a guy who could spend a year on the practice squad. This situation is pathetic!!!

Hey Camp, yeah, it's a bit off that our number 1 pick can't get on the field, maybe he's the one gets IR'd so that Koren Robinson can join the team.

The brew is chillin', the grill is warmin' the denver omelette's are checkin' each other out in tha shower! And now it's time with only a few hours till kick-off to get a few more votes in at click for cans and "prep" for the game GO PACK GO !!!!!

Big Ern said so!!!!

Thanks to Lemondrop

Thanks to Jim

So have you taken a look at the Chunky's Click for Cans? Of course you have. I find it amazing that it seems almost every year they are trying to Packer-fan proof it. first, they allowed you to click as many times as you wished. When we won it, they figured it must be because we had five monkeys banging away at it all day and night. Then with the one click limit, we still won. Now it's a one click limit with a game attached and some random multiplier (which we will most likely never be awarded). With this recent iteration, we're trashing everyone worse than ever.

So why again is Dallas called "America's Team"?

Just wondering. I can pull for them a little bit because of Romo. Good Wisconsin man. A real stand-up guy. When the PACK comes down here though... Romo and the 'boys are gonna get smacked by Tony's childhood hero. It's only fitting.

Luke in Dallas

Ouch BeerKid....... The New England Cheaters hardly broke a sweat to take care of Washington. I know different days reveal different games, but the Pack barely snuck one out in their game w/the Skins.... I don't know how the Cheats and Colts continue to dominate year after year w/o someone taking what they do and improving on it to knock them off or at least compete.

All I've got to say is, you don't want to be the team to meet them in the SB!!! Right now it looks as if the Pack or Dallas could be on a crash course w/either one of those two........... Dallas was dismanteled and they were probably the best team in the NFC at the time. I do think the Pack offers the best pass rush in the NFC to compete against those style offenses, but the DB's can't keep handing out first downs on penalties all the time. COME ON PACK!!!!! GONNA NEED SOME HUGE IMPROVEMENT YET IF YOU WANNA PISS W/THE BIG BOYS!!!

Long Live the Pack!!!

Bad runningbacks or bad O-line, Which is it.

I'm sick of it. And tired. I'm sick and tired of Al Harris being one of the best cornerbacks in the league every year and not getting that free trip to Hawaii. Instead, average guys with gaudy INT numbers go instead. Here's what I propose: Vote for him! If we Packers fans can muster 600,000 votes for Click for Cans, we surely should be able to get Harris to the Pro Bowl. The man just should not be punished for being so good nobody throws his way. Thanks for your time, and Pack4Life!

Duane in Almost God's Country

Hey Duane, as you well know, winning will cure the lack of Pro Bowl players on this team, by getting them noticed and maybe this year both Charles Woodson and Al Harris will be on the Pro Bowl team, with LB Nick Barnett too.

Happy Friday BeerKid, With reference to your question about who will be out running back this week; how about another chance for Samkon Gado?

The Houston Texans released him this week and we all know we "Gado Win!"

PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN.

Hey PP, I'm late in responding but Miami picked Samkon Gado off waivers, so for now he's a Dolphin.

Hey BeerKid!!! Reading the articles for the Bronco's/Packer's game....... First, like my other post, how many SB's has the Bate's style defense won. Second, of his time in GB, they mention the D going from 25th to 7th in yards, but last time I knew, the games were counted in points and that only went from 23rd to 19th....... It's good to see Slowak in Denver and I'd like to see Shotty Baby there too!!! I think they'll stay pretty average there defensively in Denver..... that's good for the Pack!!! Oh yeah, looking at the team this year it looks like draftwise, that they have to pluck themselves a tight-end that can stretch the field, a running back that can make someone miss and find the holes (what few there are) and a 3rd and 4th DB. Should be able to find that in seven picks. Then they've got a full team. Just get a stud or two and watch out!!!

Long Live the Pack!!!

Beerkid, WTF is up with all the RB's on the team this year. I used to think Green was wimp for being laid up all the time but at least dude had a few seasons to dinged. All these dudes have pulled labia, pinched fallopian tubes, and a torn hymen.

Why'd we ever get rid of Najeh "The Crapper" Davenport dude's been ripping it up in the Burg. And at least we liked Samkon. I can see getting rid of Green because of the money but damn man running backs in the NFL get pounded and these dudes haven't even made it through one season! I hope Teddy T. doesn't have a thing for "soft" guys. Until we get this RB situation figured out KEEP THROWING THE BALL BRETT! And I F*cking hate Denver. F*ck Javon!

Das Wolf - Pissed in Nor Cal

Hey BeerKid....  Ya think Bates will have his D fired up for the Pack!!! And how many Super Bowls has Bate's style of defense played in and won? I think it comes down to a field goal 34-31 could go either way.

Long Live the Pack!!!

Every Bronco victory has come on a "walkoff" field goal from the leg of Jason Elam...Key to this game is DONT let Elam kick the ball in the 4th.

I was just looking at your website, as I have a number of clients searching online for how to pass a drug test in your area. I need to find an appropriate source. Based on your website, I think you might be a good fit.

Jason Von Stein

Heh heh heh, eh. I don't even know where to start with this one, from a friend, or more likely just a total spam email that falls into the cosmic alignment category. There are many who might, after visiting this site for awhile, wonder how we do pass those tests.

You guys have got to be the biggest misinforming group of retards to put a football website together. Where the hell do you get half of your so called info from? So I guess stop acting like you know what the hell your talking about or at least read the bottom line on the NFL Network before you update your pathetic site.

Packer Fan

Hey Madison WI, thanks for elaborating, or if you're referring to the fact that on Wednesday RB Ryan Grant was the only back, and that somehow on Thursday head coach Mike McCarthy announced that DeShawn Wynn, who didn't practice on Wednesday, is the magical new no 1 RB for the Packers and will start Monday night against the Broncos. Never mind the fact that DeShawn hasn't made it through a whole game yet, never mind the fact that "running back by committee" means that you have no quality starting RB to carry the load. Thanks for comparing us to the NFL Network, I should have known that I had at least 1 visitor to Packer Palace who expects us to transcribe what the NFL Network is saying, ummmmm, if I were you, I'd turn on the Close Caption on my TV so you can read what Rich and the gang are saying and then that way, you don't have to get your info here. Be Pack 4 Life!

I won a dinner for 2 to an expensive restaurant in Houghton, Mi in 1977 by being the first to answer correctly the following question from WMPL AM radio station in Houghton: "Who scored the first Superbowl Touchdown?"

Hey Packer Cricket, that's great, Max McGee pops up everywhere with that trivia question, that happened to by boss who was involved in a trivia game last Sunday, same question about SB-I came up to him, he had heard the news about Max's passing that morning, and he's a Bears fan, so I'm sure if he would have known the answer otherwise.

If the Denver omlettes still had guys' like Romanowski or that running back, what's his name the dude who makes all those wrong picks on that NFL show?!They might have had a shot at us,but I say no way! Will the bookie get my dinero? NO. But the bottle shop will! CHEERS! P.S Just don't inhale and work on your fake cough and you never have to worry about that drug test ever again! Hard to believe we're hitting the halfway point already... Nice to see the Packers out in front, and those Vikes.... well... I'm not sure just WHAT to say about them...

‘Out Of The Frying Pan And Into The Fire’
Must Be How The Vikings' Team Is Feeling
As They Prepare For Another Tough Opponent
While Last Sunday’s Loss Still Has The Players Reeling

Early On The Vikes Were Successful Running The Ball
But Because Their Quarterback Play Was Just Abysmal
The Cowboys Easily Took Control In The Second Half
Which Made Minnesota’s Future Look A Little Dismal

This Week It’s A Philadelphia Team That’s Started Slowly
Actually Possessing The Same Record As The Vikings
While The Eagles Say Their Defense Has Been 'Adequate'
We'll See If Adrian Peterson Finds It To His Liking

Or They Will Be Ready To Show Him The Noose

The Broncos Will Welcome Green Bay To 'Mile High'
For Their Contest This Coming Monday Night
With The Denver Team Coming Off A Big Win
The Packers Know They'll To Be In For A Fight

The Broncos Can't Seem To Stop The Run
But The Pack Can't Get Their Ground Game Going

While The Denver Defense Has Been It's Best
When The Opponents Can Be Forced Into Throwing

Can The Packers Start To Run The Ball?
Will They Be Able To Stop The Broncos' Backs?
And Who'll Be Able To Best Defend The Passes
Fired Off By These Strong-Armed Quarterbacks?

With An Even Record At Three And Three
Which Way The Broncs Might Go Is Hard To Say
A Loss Monday Night Could Spell Their Doom
While A Win Could Start Them On Their Way

Green Bay Can't Afford To Feel Complacent
For The North Division Race Is Still At Stake
While The Broncos Are Going To Try To Start A Run
And The Packers Don't Need To Hand Them Any Breaks

Since Jackson Is Benched With A Broken Finger
The Vikes Probably Have An Even Chance To Win
While The Pack's Beaten Denver Three Of The Last Four
And Should Be Able To Squeak Another Victory In

Max McGee, R.I.P.

Packers Legend Max McGee died in an accident at his home yesterday. Sad news, here's a story from JS Online McGee was beloved figure, Packers legend dies in accident.

Like almost everyone of you, I grew up to listening to the Packers radio broadcast, featuring Jim Irwin and his sidekick Max McGee, they were always on, even while watching the game on TV. Those guys were the kings of their game, and mostly responsible for my whole "Pack 4 Life!" philosophy I carry around. We all are going to miss you Max, you will always be remembered. Salute! I'll have a drink in your honor.

Mostly he's remembered because he was a backup WR who wasn't expected to contribute much in Super Bowl I against the Chiefs. He was called in off the bench and went down into Super Bowl history with his 7 catch for 138 yards, 2 TD performance as Green Bay beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10. Expected to retire, Max came back for another year and played again in Super Bowl II, catching a TD pass in the Packers 33-14 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Here's a great article on Max's Super Bowl legacy - AOL's NFL Heroes and Legends - McGee Partied Into Early Morning Before Super Bowl I

Also, today at 12 Noon, the Packers radio re-broadcast of QB Brett Favre's first legendary 4th quarter comeback, a big win against the Cincinnati Bengals in 1992, takes on a special meaning with the passing of co-host announcer Max McGee. If you're outside the normal Packer Radio Network area, like myself, you can go here to listen to WTMJ's 620AM internet radio broadcast.

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

Just got the news.... RIP Max McGee. Thank you for the memories. You will be missed.

Max is dead.

Flogging With a Tear in Eye

Truly a sad day,

Coach Carl

When we picked out our Yellow Lab puppy, we chose the wildest one of the group. He was away from the rest of the group of pups, tearing at a shoe, independent of the rest of his brothers & sisters. Of course we named him Max, with the thought of Max McGee's personality.

I am sure that some of his old team mates were there to greet him. What a pickup game must be going on right now with Ray N., Henry J.,and Ron K. Of course Vine is telling them what to do!

At the moment someone said "he is gone" there were a group of voices cheering "here he comes!"

Rest easy Max,

old school fan

It's unfortunate that one by one the real men are passing away. The guys who party all night then knock it out all day the next!Lets not let the memory of our dads and grampas go out without a huge cheer of thanks for givin' the will to be real men (and women) Three Cheers for MAX McGEE!!! The next ones for you!!!

Big Ern said so!!!!

WOW! As a long time Packer fan, losing Max is like losing a favorite uncle.

I met Max last year at an event our non profit was holding at his house. He was in shorts and playing with his dog. When I ask him about Lombardi he said "he didn't like me much" Max we will miss you.

Max McGee was a great guy. My wife and I took our two kids to a local restaurant in a neighboring city for breakfast several years ago and that is where we met Max for the first time. As it turns out he owned the “Original Pancake House” and often had breakfast there every weekend.

We stopped over to his table and introduced ourselves and he was very nice and genuine to me and my family. Max was sporting his Super Bowl I ring and he let us take a gander at it. Personally I could have looked at it all day. Being that we live in Minnesota I told my kids that this may be the ONLY time they would actually see a Super Bowl ring.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this story and extend my personal thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and to those fortunate enough to have played the game with the PACKERS Great, Max McGee.

PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN.

From the Minneapolis StarTribune:   WM "Max" McGee McGee, WM "Max" Age 75, died October 20th, 2007 from a fall while blowing leaves at his home in Deephaven, MN. While a tragic loss, the family would like to celebrate the fullness and greatness of his life. Green Bay Packer great and diabetes research devotee, Max brought humor and wit with his bigger than life presence. Perhaps known best for his playing career with the Green Bay Packers, McGee added to his legacy in 1999 when he and his wife Denise founded the Max McGee National Research Center for Juvenile Diabetes at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to raise money for diabetes research.

Max McGee, a native of White Oak, Texas and a graduate of Tulane University, played for the Green Bay Packers from 1954 to 1967 under Coach Vince Lombardi. He played in two Pro Bowls and 5 World Championship teams. He is most remembered for Super Bowl 1 when he scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl history. He continued his association with the Packers as a broadcaster for WTMJ Radio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 20 years. He has been inducted into the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, the Tulane Athletic Hall of Fame and the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. Max had been in the restaurant business for more than 35 years. He was co-founder of the Left Guard and Chi Chi's Restaurant chains. He owns 2 Original Pancake House restaurants.

Max is survived by his wife, Denise; daughters, Marla McGee (Robert McKibben), Mona McGee Olson (Guy Olson) and sons, Maxwell and Dallas McGee. Also survived by one brother, Coy McGee; grandchildren, Callianne, Molly and Shannon Olson and step-grandchildren, Shannon Larson (Don Larson), Sean (Bambi), Shane (Lisa), Erik and Kara McKibben. Max was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister. Hey Packer Paul, Thank you very much, here's some more articles from the Star Tribune McGee services set for Sunday where a "A "very, very large crowd is expected at Grace Church" and Former Packers WR Max McGee Dies at 75 for anyone interested.

A very sad day for the Packer Nation, He will be missed but his legacy and charitable work will endure. I have already watched SBI and SBII highlights several times. My fondest memory of Max is that he owned Chi-Chi's a Mexican -American resturant. In the eighties there was no NFL ticket or ESPN, well maybe ESPN but they only showed checkers and track events. Back then they only had these gigantic satellites dishes, Me and my Packer buddies would scour the cityscapes looking for these gigantic satellites dishes. Chi-Chi's was one of those places, Which was owned by Max.We would watch the Packers and enjoy eggs and salsa. Next time when your in GB stop in at Fuzzys and give him a hug! Long live the Legends of Lambeau! God Bless America, and God bless the Green Bay Packers.

Beerkid, I wish we could start a fan-based petition to get Jerry Kramer in the HOF.

Here is the latest from the Star Tribune on Max McGee. My wife and I attended this public memorial and sat just behind the PACKER Alumni. Jim Irwin gave a wonderful speech and broke down having said he never had the chance to say good bye to Max. He and Max were like Brothers and so are the PACKER players from Lombardi's era; a "Brotherhood" that few NFL teams can say they have. I was never so proud to be a PACKER fan then I was when my wife and I left the church. We are both so grateful that Max's family allowed the general public to attend his memorial. I think Max was smiling all thru the 2 hour service. Rest in Peace Max.

PACKER PAUL - Minneapolis, MN.

Thanks Packer Paul, here's a saved copy of the articles referred to above by our esteemed friend in Minneapolis from the Star Tribune newspaper. Thanks to all for your thoughts on the passing of Packers WR Max McGee our condolences to his family and friends, with special thanks to Boz who kept us updated with news everyday from western Wisconsin.

Quoth Lombardi...

Upset over a loss, an angry Vince Lombardi decided to start over with the fundamentals of playing football, "Gentlemen, this is a football." From the back of the room, Max McGee replied, "Uh, Coach, could you slow down a little. You're going too fast for us." Vince was soon laughing with the rest of his team.

Hey BeerKid...

My Grandfather's name was Bobby Monnett and he played for the Packers during 1933-1938. My question to the Packer Nation is, does anyone know where I could find pictures of him or other items from those years. Thanks for your time and help. Please contact me at or call me at 906-869-1366.

Bobby Monnett

Hey Bobby,

Nice family history you have there. Personally, I don't have any information that can help you out, but we'll see if anyone who passes through Packer Palace can. If you have some old information or any picture's of former Packers Bobby Monnett for his grandson Bobby Monnett, please get a hold of him.

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

Bobby, You will probably have your best luck finding photos of you grandfather in the Green Bay Post Gazette archives.

After seeing his grandpa, Bob Monnett in 2 photo's in the 2006 Packers Media Guide, I suggested in an email that he contact the Packers front office and let them guide him to whoever put the media guide together, they seem to have access to all of the old historical pic's from the 1930's. Bob played on the 1936 Green Bay Packers Championship team.

Spew Off Speak Out...

So the NFL reinstates Koren "Let's have another one for the road" Robinson... let's have a beer to celebrate... oops... sorry about that

Coach Carl

Hey Coach, the only good thing out of all this is the way Brett Favre is trying to stick with Koren, and rail against the NFL for being "separatist" in it's rehab policy for it's players. K-Rob should instantly upgrade the Kick Returning duties (let's put him alongside Tramond Williams, or when healthy Will Blackmon) and as a 4th, 3rd, or 2nd WR, if he can actually contribute and live up to his original top-10 draft status.

My 9-7 prediction isn't looking too good now, and that's a good thing! I never thought our running game would be so abysmal and be 5-1. I am also very happy for Brett Favre. But where's A.J. Hawk??

Witt Dog

Hey WD, I haven't been worrying about A.J. Hawk too much, it's mostly assignments by the Packers coaching staff, maybe a little of the other team scheming against, well, rather away from him, and very much the improved play of fellow LB Nick Barnett and the surprise play of newcomer SS Atari Bigby.

Packers look better than most thought....... I was standing behind giving TT time to put together something and see what we ended up with. Wish they'd have gotten Moss. Hope they pick up a couple studs next year to go w/the draft. They might have something then. There's a lot of youth on this team, be interesting to see them mature in the next year or two. Also, they have such a long ways to go..... The offensive line is worse than they should be w/o an excuse for it. Bush is a weak spot. The DB's are giving up tons of first downs w/penalties. Probably better to grab the receiver vs. getting beat for a touchdown, better yet would be for someone to teach them to play properly (Shotty Baby).

I can't believe the coaching staff accepts that crap, but they leave a lot to be desired also. Seem good at game planning but can't seem to make game adjustments. They just don't seem to have the intangibles. What about the long counts eating up three four seconds each time at the end of the game a couple weeks ago, how about not shifting to a no-huddle for a series or two for a change of pace when things get bogged down. It's the little things. Did I notice the receivers out running Favre's passing ability last week, he losing a little strength in the arm? In the end, when I watch the games, I tend to find myself watching them as if they're playing the NE Cheaters, Colts, etc. vs. who they are playing that week. Sure that was good enough to win the game against so and so, but is that good enough/getting good enough to get to where they need to be (it's about SB's) and beat the big dogs. And from what I see, the big dogs will eat them alive so far...... MORE IMPROVEMENT NEEDED!!

Long Live the Pack!!!

Hey Long Lived, that's the bright spot at the bye week this year, the Packers are 5-1 and have much room for improvement. Several players can and should improve their performance. This is where we the fans need the coaching staff to take over, they see how everyone's playing and contributing so far, for better or worse and now it's time to play up to the Packers strong points. Especially coming up with the road games in Denver and Kansas City.

It's about damn time K-Rob made it back! Now the two former drinkers can hook it up right to the endzone. Go Pack!

Delirium Tremens

Hey DT, you have to think that the availability and expected return of K-Rob is the main reason our GM TT didn't go seriously after Randy Moss in the offseason. Now the Packers have even more reason to go pass-happy on offense. Good, that will bring more wins.

SCUMBAG broncos,it still stings how you cheated your way to a tittle!and screw john elgay! GO PACK GO!!!!!!

Big Ern said so !!!!

Hey Big Ern, the more "fans" that are at the baseball game the more room there is for Packer Fans to be at the football game. Go Rockies! Go Pack!

Is Jarret Bush really our best option at Nickel or are the coaches just that confident in him. He is killing us back there.

Hey Schmitty, Someone mentioned the other day that Patrick Dendy isn't on any team's roster this year... ha just kidding. Every team likes to pound on and exploit the weakest link of the defense... it's JB's turn this year.

WOW! 5-1, This team continues to improve every week! Clearly this Packers Team can realy dominate when it wants to (Bears game 1st 1/2) and the Defense in the Washington game. Last year there were glimpes of the same, I was at the Seattle game, yes I am a Washington State transplant but percievered through Lynn Dickey, Scott Hunter and the like. They dominated the Seattle game only to falter in the last 8 minutes. That was a great game lots and lots of Packer fans!!!!!Koren Robinson may add the spark we need to propel us into the top echelon of elite teams. I am hoping that he does for this team as Andre Rison,Desmond Howard did for the 1996 team. That may be asking alot but he is a very good player and I think Favre and Koren have kindled a relationship on and off the field. It just goes to show how valuable Brett Favre really is. This guy has done so much for the Packers , Green Bay and of course the greatest fans on the planet the Packer Fans!!! A bye week will really help the Packers. First and Foremost Denver will use a cover two defense and GB needs to be ready and expose the week CB's and establish the run early. I hope Deshawn Wynn can finally get his legs and play four quarters. No reason he shouldn't gain 90-125 yds this game. I see Koren Robinson on a reverse play gaining a ton of yardage. The defense will continue to thrive I would like to see a couple of Safety blitzes.

Barnett and Kampman are on track for the Pro Bowl, Atari Bigby is one of my favorites right now , he is playing with reckless abandon. I said it before that this team is good, now to be great they need to dominate for 4 quarters in all facets of the game. But this is the NFL and all these guys are really good. Only 2% make it from high school football. I will take any win because second place does not count. the Packers can really separate themselves by winning two games on the road and of course winning on Turkey Day! My prediction for the Denver Game Packers clearly dominate 38-17. We have beaten most of the elite teams in the NFC now onto the AFC!!!!!!! No fans will show up for the game since the Rockies are in the World Series making another plus for the PACK!!! Beer Kid what do you think of the new Miller/Coors idea? Off to pick out my costume for the Facshing!!!

Hey Packman, yeah-up, I like watching this aggressive Defense, they make mistakes, but they are the biggest reason the Packers are 5-1 at the break.

Yo Coach. So the NFL new believes the force out on Bubba Franks was a bad call? That might have cost the Packers the game and had to be one of the worst calls I have ever seen. How could they blow one like that?

Dickie Do

Hey DD, the Ref's complain that the force out is the toughest call to make, yet it seemed pretty obvious that Bubba got one foot down and then was shoved hard out of bounds, the ref's blew the call, it's almost every week we hear about the refs blowing a call against the Pack, Donald Driver must have drawer full of apologies from the Referee Committee's.

WOW !! That Adrian Peterson is really something isn't he?? He's going to be a handful for the Packers in the years to come... Meanwhile, the Packers are getting a well-deserved week off (hopefully to develop a running game).  Enjoy

Quoth Lombardi...

They may not love you at the time, but they will later.

Packers Verses Vikings...

Last Week's Game Against The Chicago Bears
Left The Vikes Feeling A Corner Has Been Turned
Adrian Peterson Came Up Huge And Was Surprised
By All The Attention That His Performance Earned

It Seemed Every Time That He Touched The Ball
He Was Off For A Dazzling Touchdown Run
And For Those Who Love The Vikings
For The First Time Watching A Game Was Fun

So As They Prepare For The Cowboys Game
There's A New Optimism In Their Eyes
And They Have The Feeling Deep Down Inside
That Dallas Is Going To Be Surprised

The Cowboys Are Tending To The Wounds
Inflicted By The Patriots Last Week
And The Vikings May Be Just The Opponent
That An Angry Dallas Team Should Seek

While The Defense May Have Trouble With 'A.D.'
T-Jack And Receivers Won't Be Much Of A Threat
While The Cowboy Offense Is Nothing Like
Anything The Vikings Have Seen As Yet

It's Clear The Dallas Team Has Been Very Good
Even If The Pats Put A Hard One On Their Chin
While No One Knows If The Vikes' Game Was A Mirage
Or The Beginning Of A Longer Trend

As The Rain Fell From A Gray Wisconsin Sky
The Packers Pulled Their Chinstraps Tight
Knowing They Had To Overcome A Loss To The Bears
And That The Redskins Would Put Up Quite A Fight

This Wasn't A Pretty Game By Any Means
As The 'Skins Slowed The Packers To A Crawl

Yet Again Green Bay Couldn't Run
And Favre Struggled With A Wet And Heavy Ball

Early On Washington Found The Tight End Open
Every Time The Quarterback Looked Downfield
But In The Second Half Green Bay Shut That Down
And Picked Up A Fumble That Closed The Deal

While The Green Bay Team Wasn't Overwhelming
They Were Good Enough To Find A Way To Win
Which Seems To Be The Method They're Using
To Lead The North Division Once Again

Even Though This Is Green Bay's Bye Week
The Coaches Will Be Burning The Midnight Oil
Trying To Find The Answers For The Running Game
That's Threatening A Tremendous Season To Spoil
It's Too Bad The Minnesota Team Is In The Way
Of A Cowboy's Team Getting Their Swagger Back
For By The End Of Sunday's Game They'll Wish
They Were On The Same Bye Week As The Pack!

Chicago Police Report...

Chicago police reported that some individual attempted to "egg" Head Coach Lovie Smith's house last night.

The Chicago Police Report stated:
An empty egg carton was recovered at the scene. Two eggs hit Mr. Smith's house, 3 eggs went over his house and hit his neighbor's back door, 2 eggs hit the houses of each of his next-door neighbors, and the remaining 3 eggs were found broken on the ground near the carton from where the individual threw them. Looking at what was hit, police officials say they are considering former starting QB Rex Grossman as the primary suspect.

Packers 1st Place NFC North!!! 5-1...

We were warned about ugly wins this year... and they don't come much uglier than this Packers win over the Redskins 17-14 on a rainy afternoon in Green Bay. Big win, takes the Packers to 5-1, and sitting atop of the NFC North Division. You have the Lions in 2nd with 3-2 record, then the Vikqueens with 2-3, and then finally the laughable Bears in last at 2-4.

Today we had some of the same mistakes, Brett Favre throwing a few jump-ball passes to non-jump-ball WR's, a couple of phantom holding penalties on the Packers O-line, a couple of suspect play-calls, throw in 2 missed FG's by rookie Kicker Mason Crosby and the Packers wouldn't normally win the game.

Still, TE Donald Lee had a big catch over the middle early in the game, a couple of timely runs by DeShawn Wynn and Vernand Morency, and then some amazing defensive plays to keep Washington out of the end-zone. Face it, despite the defense coming up big at the end, the Redskins lost mostly because of their mistakes, their dropped passes, their missed reads, and not so much what the Packers did.

But an ugly win is an ugly win and the Packers go into their bye week at 5-1, 1st place in the NFC North. Playoffs? Super Bowl? Let's do it again!

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

An ugly win is still an ugly win!! BeerKid you said it all. 5-1 is still 5-1 and that is much better than I thought we would be at this point of the season. I just can't help but feel worried going into the remainder of the season. The lack of a run game is starting to haunt us. We can all act like our defense can carry us and we don't have to have a run game, but we kidding ourselves. The pressure on Favre, on the short pass game, and Packer time of possession is going to be a problem. If we develop some type of run game we are post season bound, if not, we will be lucky to get there or make any serious run in the playoffs. You would think the pass game would set up the run game once and a while. I just don't know how you can have such a bad run game week after week.

Live and Die with the Pack,

5-1 is all well and good - and this isn't any big news story here, but they have to get the running game going. a one dimensional team in the playoffs will be one and done. i would hope they use the bye week to get this moving in the right direction. Or with the trade deadline on Tueaday - let's bring a back in (Turner from San Diego?)and get him up to speed during the bye week. keeping the faith in Massachusetts - go Pack !

bill - mass packers fan

Considering all the B.S. calls we've been getting against us the past two weeks, I'll definitely take this one! As the honorable Flava Flav would say: "YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH BOOOOOOYYYYYY!!"

Bobby O'Shea

Aaron Kampman is in my opinion the best player the packers have. Followed in order by Favre, Harris, Woodson, Barnett, Hawk, and Driver.

If the Defense can keep up this inspired play, it will be nice going to Lambeau for a playoff game, or 3.

I still believe that the running game is there. I counted on more than ten occasions that I yelled run the ball. McCarthy needs to level out that Rush Pass ratio a little bit.

I'll take that shit win any day over all those shit losses we have had over the last couple of years. I am a true believer but I really never imagined that the Pack would be going into the bye week 5-1 when the schedule came out in the off-season.

We've had enough tuff losses over the last few years. Here's me raising a cold can of Leinies in honor of The Pack. Good job good job hard try hard try my boys and fellow friends! Enjoy the Bye Week!

Das Wolf - Pissed in Nor Cal

Rather have an ugly win than a pretty loss :)

Cheese Guy...

Hats off to you guys at 5-1. The division is now yours after we disposed of the lame Bums in Soldier for ya. Good luck this year.

Holy crap "BleedPurple". That's the nicest thing I've ever heard out of a Vikings fan. I had to read it several times.

In any case, the win was nice. It seems the defense is coming around... Or at least our guys are doing whatever it takes to win. I like that.

My roommate is a Redskins fan. He was talking a lot of trash during the week. Well guess what? It's Tuesday and I have yet to see the kid. He has missed two days of classes already because he is hiding. 5-1 feels great and the bye couldn't come in a better time. Let's get our players healthy and get KOREN ROBINSON BACK!!!!!!!!

Quoth Lombardi...

All right Mister, let me tell you what winning means you're willing to go longer, work harder, give more than anyone else.

Speak Out Spew Off...

" this game, the same old story. Fight, you Packers, fight, and bring the bacon home to old Green Baaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!" Yeah, Go Pack!

It's a big game this week at Lambeau Field, with the 3-1 Washington Redskins coming in to play the 4-1 Green Bay Packers. This game is no easy win for the Packers. After last week's 2nd half letdown, let's hope the Packers are ready to play up to their 1st place standing. It's also important to win this game with the Packers going into the bye week, I'd rather be 5-1 and then 4-2. Yes, yes I would have been happy with 4-2 at the break when talking about this last July, but not after being 4-0. The Bears aren't that far behind. So Coach McCarthy better be on his "A" game this week, as well as the Packers players.

A side-note here: This is the only 32nd meeting between the 2 NFL Franchises, the Packers have been in the league since 1921, the Redskins since 1932. They have matched up in the preseason 25 times, explains why there's not much of a history and rivalry between the teams, they almost never get to play each other outside the normal schedule rotation.

So the battle this Sunday will come down to the offensive minded Packers creeping by the much improved defensive Redskins on a late FG by Packers K Mason Crosby, ummm, I'll say 19-17 and go into the bye week in 1st place of the NFC North.

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

Biggest game of the year this week. To go 3-0 against the NFC East would be Huge in playoff positioning. Take into account the mediocre west and south. Bye week next week, go balls out and get to 5-1. Im such a believer in a re-emerging Pack Run Game that I picked up and am starting Wynn at RB this week. GO PACK!

Great "Redskins" pic, guy.... I hate to whine, but did anybody else feel a little queasy when Mike M was throwing Wynn and Jones under the bus?? I mean it wasn't like "Some of the young guys had some problems that we'll be able to overcome..." No it was "Jones--get your ass to the bench" and "I don't know HOW Wynn starts cramping up in the first quarter"

I just think it's bad form to put the spotlite on a couple of rookies like that. If this team is going to brag abut being the youngest in the league-it can't whine about rookie mistakes..........

Hey Gator, in retrospect, coach Mike McCarthy did throw them under the bus, he sat James Jones down until WR Greg Jennings went down, and Wynn who was playing well during that first series, after "fluiding up" he still did not play until the 2nd half. A coach is always battling that line between motivating and reprimanding... and McCarthy didn't do very well during the loss to the Bears.

Fun Facts on some Packers...
Donald Jerome Driver - As a youngster, nicknamed 'Quickie' by his parents, who grew tired of chasing him around the house, and because he was a quick learner.

Atari David Bigby - Born in Jamaica, moved to the U.S. at age 4. Named Atari by his grandmother, who liked the name. "Atari" is Japanese for a form of the word "attack"

Vernand Morency - Name is pronounced VERN-in mo-REN-see. Participated in ABC's Extreme Home Makeover in Oklahoma in February, bringing along athletes from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at his alma mater.

Muhammed-Kabeer Olarewaju Gbaja-Biamila - Name is pronounced kah-BEER BAH-jah BEE-ah-MIL-lah. Gbaja-Biamila translates to 'Big Man Come and Save Me' in Nigerian Nicknamed 'KGB' - One of seven children, has a twin sister, Kubrat, who is 10 minutes older than him.

Beerkid and BeerScout - Wanted to send a big Thank You from Corey Behnke and myself for your kind words regarding and our podcast "Packer Transplants".

Keep up the great work. Go Pack!

Aaron Nagler

If you missed it, this week's broadcast is up - Packer Transplants - and as for the "kind words", it was more like thank the Creator that you guys were doing a podcast, 'cuz if it was up to BeerScout and myself, our "conversation instantly devolves into a typical broken bottle bar fight scene", sure it would be Chimay beer bottles, but those are just bigger and heavier. If you haven't checked out Corey and Aaron's Packer Podcast, it's time to do it.

Just happened upon this site, and I really am enjoying it! I have been a looong time Packer fan,( since Starr was throwing it to McGee, and one game does not make a season.

Look back at some of the better packer teams and you will see that every once in a while you stub your toe.

I think of the '62 Packers and their loss against Detroit on Thanksgiving day. A great team will show what they are made of after a loss. I like the aggressiveness of this team, but tackling is a big problem, and the inability to run i guess we will see.

old school fan

You Know, BeerKid......... Shortly into the game I found myself thinking "When is Nick Collins going to show up"? I thought to myself how we never hear his name much during the games. How the coaches have been saying for a couple years now that he's ready to arrive. Then I thought maybe he's doing such a good job that that is why we haven't heard much. I watched the game and focused on him this week. Maybe this was a bad game for him, but he looks like shit...... He's good for about one good game a year. If he's what the coaches think he is, he should be making some plays. Still can't cover very well, body isn't under control, doesn't play the ball well.... I still think the D-backfield looks Shotty Baby coached. Lots of holding, pass interference, illegal contacts, assignment mess ups, playing to far off the receiver, tackling etc. etc. etc. They need some improvement yet.....

Long Live the Pack!!!

TED had to enjoy watching Greg Olsen kill us while his number one Justin Harrell is trying to figure out what its like to suit up and play some downs. Yea, I am one of those what could have been guys, but TED was as much a part of our loss to Chicago as everyone else!! Can you imagine if we would have given Brett a threat like Greg Olsen. We have needed a quality tight end for years and we passed on what looks like a good one. But, we have Justin Harrell getting in condition to help us in the years to come. Oh, I almost forgot he did get a tackle on Sunday.

For how "little" it would have taken us to draft Olsen, sign Moss, and get a back that can see the field it really makes me sick wonder what it could have been like for Brett and Packer Fans. I think shock and awe might describe it!! Well we saved a 4th or 5th round draft pick and we've giving guys who would have never gotten a chance to start at running back a chance to have memories for a lifetime.

TBSS... and right now so does the play calling and use of the clock at crucial times.

Da bears did'nt really win that game, rather the Packers lost one. They have to step up to the next level in order to go deep into the playoffs. The defense needs to start knocking some snot out of people; Ala #66 Ray Nitshke. Had WR Jones only dropped one pass we may have won that game. We totally dominated a weaker team. I still think Chicago has no chance of winning the Division. This Team (Pack) needs to elevate their mental and physical game to the next level and quit playing down to mediocre teams. This will be a test Sunday as Washington is much improved but still beatable. I hear whispers Koren will be back in 2 weeks after the Bye week. Great ! no knock T.Williams but I think the Special Teams KO return team is opening some huge holes, and Koren Robinson should be able to take those to the house. Atari Bigby continues to surprise, Please sign him long term. Johnny Jolly is out playnig Corey Williams right now. Trade Corey Williams/Colin Cole and a draft pick for a quality TE before next week (Trading Deadline). The O-Line needs to start dominating in the trenches!! and minimize the holding penalties enough said. The coaching in the second half was puzzeling, I can understand the conservative approach but 3 consecutive 3 and outs????? We cant have that. Especially after putting up 350 in the first half. I will predict a low ,low scoring game and hopefully the PACK does not make any mistakes. Green Bay 13 Washington 3. Hope everyone enjoys the Fall weather!! BRRRRRR

I'm hoping that the Packers have learned their lessons from the Chicago debacle and can put it behind them as they move on.

There were many lessons to be learned in that game-1)the Packers can't count on the running game to carry them against a better that average defense 2)Mike McCarthy has to learn to make adjustments during the game, not just at halftime--and if a player (especially a rookie) makes a mistake that benching him may not always be the wisest thing to do 3)Brady Poppinga can't cover a tight end 1 on 1 and 4) the OL STILL can't run block

BUT I do have faith that the Packers can get past some of these things--they DO need to return to the pass/run ratio they had coming into this Sunday Night game--and then take the surprise runs for what they are worth, and not a sign that tis team can 'grind it out' with the big boys....

Coach Carl

P.S. Well, reality comes crashing in on the Packers.... is this a 'glitch' on the screen, or the beginning of a trend... tune in Sunday to find out! And just how well-rested are the vikes? least nobody got arrested this year!!

Quoth Lombardi...

Success is like anything worthwhile. It has a price. You have to pay the price to win and you have to pay the price to get to the point where success is possible. Most important, you must pay the price to stay there.

Packers Verses Vikings...

The Vikings Have Had A Week To Relax
Have They Re-Evaluated As Well?
Maybe The Answers Will Have Come To Childress
It Seems That Only Time Will Tell

There Has To Be A Way For Them
To Move The Ball With Consistency
If Both Backs Were On The Field At Once
That Combination Might Just Hold The Key

The Quarterbacks However Are Just A Mess
With The Roster Holding No True Stars At All
Although That's Not Really Much Of A Problem
For There's No One Who Can Really Catch The Ball

The Defense Has Picked Up Yet Again
From Where They Were When Last Season Ended
Pretty Much Unable To Stop The Pass
While The Running Games Are Well Defended

The Chicago Bears Are Lying In Wait
As This Vikings' Head Off To Soldier Field
Coming Off An Emotional Victory In Green Bay
Where They Were Just Good Enough To Close The Deal

The Bears Have Been In Hibernation
Until Last Week's Win Jolted Them Awake
But If They Think The Vikes Will Lay Down And Die
That Would Be A Foolish And Tragic Mistake

While Playing The Bears Last Sunday Night
The Packers' Team Finally Hit The Wall
Watching Their Unbeaten Record Slip Away
Like The Often-Turned Over Football

Turnovers, Penalties And No Running Game
All Contributed To The Undoing Of Green Bay
Not To Mention An Overrated Defense
Who Couldn't Stop Chicago Or Their Big Plays

This Week It's The 'Skins Who Come To Visit
Bringing A Record Much Like The Packers' Own
The Running Game There Is Productive
And Their Defensive Talents Are Well-Known

Jason Campbell Is Another Southern Boy
Who Can Really Drop Back And Throw The Ball
While Clinton Portis Loves To Scurry Downfield
If It's Not The Receivers Getting The Call

Green Bay Will Have To Play Flawlessly
For The 'Skins 'D' Will Provide A Stiff Test
Let's Hope They Don't Obsess On The Running Game
And Just Let Brett Do What He Does Best

The Bears And Vikings Will Slug It Out
With Chicago's Record Moving To Three And Three
While The Redskins' Journey To Wisconsin
Will Leave Them Frustrated As Can Be

Packers 1st Place NFC North!!! 4-1...

The Bears Still Suck! The Bears Still Suck! The Bears Still Suck! The Bears Still Suck! Yes They Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Suck. Yes, The Bears Still Suck! 'Cept when the Packers 2nd half coaching strategy sucks and results into a 20-27 loss to the Bears!!!

Somewhere today ex-Coach Mike Sherman is smiling broadly, this was something he might have implemented if he were still the coach in Green Bay. The Packers 2nd half game plan by current coach Mike McCarthy against the Bears was so conservative, so shut-downed, so let's protect a 10 pt lead by having a no 2nd half first-down offensive strategy, so far below anything Mike Sherman would have boldly considered not doing, you have to be left speechless.

The Packers had a 17-7 halftime lead, that's up by 2 scores, that winning by 10 even with rookie WR James Jones 2 fumbles. The Bears cut it to 17-10 on the opening 2nd half drive, we matched the FG to make it 20-10, and then the Packers head coach blew it. He decided that it was the Packers time to run the ball, it was time to defy all those nay-sayers around the country, it was time to prove the Packers actually had a power running game that had been hidden and tucked away unused somewhere. The key thing to notice here was that 4 man 2nd half rush by the Bears that needed TE Bubba Franks and a RB to sit back in and block, that's 7 men blocking 4 men. Not all that well by the way, and the last time I checked, Bubba's a great blocker for a TE, but he's not a FB. Folks, the Packers have a below NFL average offensive line again this year.

This Packers game was lost to the Bears because of bad coaching decisions in the 2nd half. A hated rival was on the ropes and the Pack couldn't deliver a blow to break-out of a wet paper bag, let alone a knock-out punch. Sh*t Gawd-damned! Mutha F*ing Bears Still Suck!

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

You could just feel that coming. It is really sad to see us lose to a team that we were better than. Before the season you would have said, well beating Chicago will be tough. To know we had our opportunity to put these guys away for the season and we blew it. Now we have presented them a golden opportunity to start to believe in themselves.

I am not sure we could have much poorer play, coaching decisions, and two minute drills. To be honest with you I am hoarse from yelling at the TV. Even though we finally gained some running yards we do not have running backs. We have guys that are just that some guys. The rookie mistakes killed us on the fumbles and Brett pulled on of his classic bone head passes that resulted in turning the game around. The play calling in the second half was pathetic!! I don't know what else to call it. A very very sad game that I hope was just a learning lesson for a very young team.

Live and Die with the Pack

Not to be the guy who blames the refs for a loss by a few dumb-asses, BUT hell we have to play against the zebras too???Bulls**t calls?!? You see interference every other play by yogi AND boo-boo! holding us like were their 2nd cousins at an Illinois prom and so many cheap shots I lost count! Then they call "illegal procedure" for lining-up over their center giving them the TD??! True if we hadn't lost the ball we'd have won,but that was last night, after we take-a-lap for pussy-footing let's go beat the skins! GO PACK GO!!! Screw you ref and you too bears, you still suck!

Big Ern said so!!!!

Thanks Beerkid. In a way, this has actually helped the healing process begin.

Hey Luke, I'm guessing your thinking of the slight ironic humor in the fake quotes on last night's game, thanks. The Pack need to shake it off and think about beating the Redskins this week.

Wow!!! Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.... Run, run, pass..... Run, run, pass.... Still a lot of work needs to be done. Guess you just seen the difference between the NE Cheaters Belichek and Brady vs. Favre and McCarthy...

Long Live the Pack!!!

we handed them the game!! 2 fumbles, 4 int., a ton of penalties... they didn't win, we lost!

Josh L.

Hey Josh, good to hear from you, yeah the Packers lost, only thing that counts is the scoreboard. For the record it was 12 penalties, 3 fumbles lost and 2 int's by Brett Favre, that last hail mary one almost came down into the hands of Donald Driver, how crazy would that TD have been...

We'll be fine, as long as James Jones doesn't have anyone tackle him from behind and DeShawn Wynn takes Midol for menstrual cramps.

Bobby O'Shea

Hey Kid, That was a bad team that the Head Coach lost to last night. WHAT IN THE HELL WAS HE THINKING? Number 4 was marching it up and down the field with the short slants and he decides that Wynn needs to run up the gut 35 times? This guy is going cost us more wins like this this year. I would rather have Sherman right now. I have said it before, I will say it again, McCarthy needs to find a new playbook, or someone elses. Maybe Bellicheat can sell him one of the other teams (you know that cheat has some). I am so angry right now. Count to ten.........

This loss is completely on the head coach...oh and James Jones. 21 nothing if he did not lose those two. 21 to nothing and the bears would already be loading the buses. Losing sucks. So do the bears. The announcers talking about a season changing game. Screw that the bears will suck next week, just they won't have a coach on the other sideline that will hand them the game with a bow on it. Merry freaking Christmas bearsfan. Lovie is 4-0 in Lambeau. That has got to stop. Zone block, zone block, zone block. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh zone block.

The Bears still suck. Go Pack Go!!

Hamilton aka Sign Boy

The worst thing McCarthy did was think he had a running game. The most elementary football knew that the Packers ran the ball well in the first half because the Bears expected us to pass 70% of the time. Teams make adjustments at half time and the Bears adjusted. The Packers should have realized this good fortune was due to Chicago's preparation for something else and come out in the 2nd half calling the same offense they called against New York, San Diego or the Queens. The Packers are better than the Bears and its unfortunate that our Head Coach doesn't think so.

While turnovers certainly played a large role in this years' first loss (Perhaps there is some "don't think of a pink elephant" effect at play here?), coaching seems to have been the deciding factor. 1) With less than two minutes and one TO remaining, throw 10-15 yard passes in the middle? 2) The whole 2nd half game plan. 3)Worst, the end of the first half_Favre's visible irritation said it all. Instead of wasting the TO, how about spiking the ball, taking two pokes towards the end zone, and THEN using the TO, if necessary, for a field goal. Could've easily been 24-7 at the half. Argh!

This team has shown it can respond positively to success, now we'll see how they rebound from adversity. go Pack!

Dead Horse Flogging

oh yeah...... ummmm you suck as well as the slackers, lol, just shut your pie hole...

TBSS and right now so does the play calling and use of the clock at crucial times.

what did I say about the Pack D vs Tight Ends? I believe both TE's for the cubs scored. Oh and James Jones can you say Hello to the tiddy bears D. Yeah dude its not just on film they really do try to strip the ball and punch it out of your hands. Lets just hope the rookie learned his lesson.

scott tay

Ya know, The fumbles suck, Lord and masters gift too #54 was pitiful. But the killer were the penalties for 1st downs boneheaded SH@T.... On the way too bestbuy for a new tv controller over that crap.

D'oh! The Bears live to fight another day.

Hey D34, lately, in the Packers vs Bears series, the road team usually wins, it's been an odd stat in the NFL's longest running rivalry. The game in Soldier Field already looks like a Packers win to me. Beer "Fan of the NFL's leading 12 Time Champion Green Bay Packers" Kid.

Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing, the result

Quotes From Last Night's Loss...

"It's called the 'Lay Down and Die' philosophy, and when I implemented that game plan for the 2nd half of our game against an inferior Chicago opponent, I knew it gave us the best chance to position ourselves to win the game, I just knew it. Quite frankly, I have no idea how Brett Favre managed to get us in position for that 2nd half FG, I already had our offense in shutdown mode at the time."

Head Clown Mike McCarthy - Defending his 2nd half lack of coaching strategy as a coaching strategy...

"I miss Ahmad Carroll. I mean, when you needed someone to blow a key 3rd down play with a stupid defensive penalty, Ahmad was the Man, now this year it seems to be me... I really, really, really miss Ahmad Carroll."

CB Al Harris - On his hands to the face penalty that kept a Bears drive alive...

"All I wanted to do in the 2nd half was throw the damn ball down the field once in awhile, to one of my WR's or at the very least, when I have to hand the ball off, get a RB that knows how to cut back against the grain and out into the open field instead of plowing into the backs of our O-Linemen every time for little or no gain."

QB Brett Favre - On the 2nd half game plan provided by his head coach...

"Thank God that little girlie tantrum I threw wasn't caught on video tape".

BeerKid - 5 minutes after his post-play foaming and frothing seizure moan (A medical team was alerted and on standby) of the called run on the 3 and 6 play where the Packers ran the ball exactly the way they had on the 2 previous plays for combined 4 yards, resulting in another 2 yard gain and a 4th down punting situation...

** All quotes and comments posted above by the head coach and players of the Green Bay Packers are completely made up and not factual in any basis what so ever, except for BeerKid's girlie tantrum, that actually happened. **

Speak Out Spew Off...

Duh Bears are coming to Lambeau Field this week, and perfect time for the Packers to play hard and put this long-time nemesis on downward spiral towards the division's cellar. Nothing will be coming easy, but the Bears are hurting in their defensive secondary, and well, you know the Packers can't run the ball, so expect more the 5 wide WR set's, to take advantage of unskilled and in-experienced DB's on the Chicago defense.

Special Teams returner Devin Hester might get his automatic and obligatory TD, and LB Brian Urlacher will cause his usual problems, but this game is winnable for the Packers. QB Brett Favre has to play some of his smartest football in a long time, and the defense is stout enough that they can hold that Bears weak-assed offense (led by who again? Griese? Orton? Grossman? They all suck. So does it matter?) to under 17 points and the Packers are going to put up some easy TD's of their own. I'm going with a Packers win over duh Bears, something like 26-16 for the final score. Go Pack!

By the way, little did Aunt Lynn and Uncle Robert realize that "F*ck Da Bears" t-shirt pic of them pre-gaming at the edge of Lambeau Stadium would become a regular feature of Packers vs. Bears week at Packer Palace. :-)

BeerKid - Still Pack 4 Life!

OK, look for me at Brett Favre's Steakhouse tailgate before the Redskins game because I need to make up some money I spent on tickets at the all-you-can drink beer tap! I'll be wearing, what else, a Packer Palace tee shirt!

Hey BeerKid where you getting those chimay's from? Best beer I ever had - made me think about possibly becoming a trappist monk....

Packer Fan in VA

Hey Packer Fan, it's a matter of a lucky alignment, my little neighborhood brick store was convinced to up their Wine and Beer selection, and our Sunday game hangout bar, The Daily Pint, has the Chimay Triple on tap. Who need's food when you have the Trappist Monks making "liquid bread" :-)

Oiy Vey..Kid, I was almost ready to board a plane for that CA area to wake you up from your Chimay, (Chimura) lol, and then the PackerPalace woke up and came alive.

Thank GOD! Its BEARS WEEK. I will have my 'sparkling lights' Packer mug and my 4 Jersey on, hubby in recliner, as I sit 4 ft. away on the floor? well, screaming,(its workin) as the rest of our Packer pals sit wherever they want? Its the Karma thing. Make a Killer food for half time, and wait for the rights to scream "5 and 0, Baby!" way up here in Upatate Wisconsin. Who has more FUN than a Packer fan? (GOOGLE THAT) LOL

Next week, same aforementioned, will have the fortune of being at LAMBEAU against the 'Sklns. I will take pics, and come back screaming '6 and 0 BABY' (sad note tho, this week, Ahman Green lost his step dad, (who was like his real dad), Creedos to Ahman, He was a good Packer.) SALUTE!

The Packers need to jump to an early insurmountable lead against the bears and also against the redskins next week. This will allow them plenty of time to work on their running game so they can establish one after the bye and begin to truly dominate the league.

Homers Unite

NEWS FLASH!!!!! Bears will always suck we all know it.

Big Ern said so!!!!

"and Ditka was a pussy!"

As I push play on my cassette deck to my dated stereo system, U2 "The Joshua Tree" probably the greatest album ever made!, I am starting to get ready forthi weeks contest. After fielding several calls from friends and relatives it looks like the Carolina Game is the game of choice this year! However i will not look past our arcrivals the hated Chicago Bear, I remember walking downtown Chi-town with my Packer Starter jacket on in 1996 and nobody, I mean nobody gave me any shit! Hard to believe! I cant wait to put those bears away. We beat them last year and we will beat them this year, ditto. I think we need to start Chanting "MVP,MVP,MVP" everytime Favre makes a great play!!!!!!! This is the year the PACK is BACK!

I want the Defense to step up. Come on Hawk! Woodson, and Harris!!!!!! Bigby is the real deal. Lets give him the money$$$$his salary cap # this year is $125K Lets triple that and give him a 3 yr deal. I still think we should trade for a TE, Sorry Colin Cole and a 6th Round draft pick for McMichael, Whitten, Crumpler et al. We need our running game to improve give me +65 yds and i will be a happy camper! My prediction on Sunday night, another Favre spectacular show 24-7 (7 for Devin Hester) our defense really steps it up! Everyone will be wearing WHITE- Sentry handing out t-shirts for 70k fans so wear white!!!!! See You at the Game !!!!! or Tailgate!!!!Go Pack Go

Hey Packman, I want to see the Packers defense rise up and lay down a heavy smacking on the Bears, it could be a repeat of last year's finale. Go Pack!

The Bears still suck. They really really suck. Thank You

There is no better way to follow-up a successful Vik-queen week with the stinking Bears. I am sorry I even doubted that the last weekend's game was going to be closer than it really was. I have always believed in the Green and Gold and I cannot wait to kick da Bear's ass just like Big Ern says.

The best is the childish crying and whining that is coming from MN and their veteran players. If it's not the lack of home field advantage, then it was the refs screwing them. Too bad they aren't smart enough to figure out that they are just an inferior team.

I agree with Peterson -- at least the Viking tradition can drve him out of town just like it did with the Super Freak, Randy Moss.

Gotta go for now so Beerkid...raise a glass or two for me and GO PACK GO

Packer Wonk in MN

Where's Cory Dillon? Rickey? OK, Mewelde? Is that how you spell it?

Scott in Souptown

Hey Scott, you know where any free agent or available running back is... not on TT's radar, that's where. Mewelde Moore is the only 1 of those 3 I'd be interested in... but then again, it appears that it's the Packers O-Line that has the issues.

Great site guys and I thought you might like this pic I made. The "Duh Bums" pics are yours of course. Hope you don't mind me using them. I love your animated videos every week. Thanks again.

Hey David, thanks. I'm debating on turning Madden and Michaels off, and listen to the generic radio broadcast. I'll be forced to listen to those blow-hards during any re-watching of the game I might do anyway. I can freely admit that announcer John Madden has passed his prime some long, long time ago.

Yeah I know. I'm half joking and half reaching. Kind of need 700 yards rushing from somebody the rest of the year. Sterling Sharpe just picked the Pack for the Super Bowl. There are lots of things to get straight first.

Scott in Souptown

Chunky Soup's Click For Cans - Its that time of the year!! Post it at Packer Palace to remind everyone please. Thanks.

Good tune for ya TheBearsStillSuck Enjoy!
